    starting the car in WOT is considered a flood start. check for leaky injectors, ruptured fuel pressure regulator (FPR) diaphram (fuel in vacuum hose at FPR). also, check IAT. if it's bad could cause this.

    yes, but some computers will back timing out for a moment as the throttle opens. i don't remember why, i just remember reading/seeing it.

    the IMRC plates are in the intake system. he is talking about the diverter valves in the air injection system (smog pump). you will get a check engine light but a good tuner can program out the light. there should not be any drivability issues.

    the computer controls the spark timing throught the SPOUT circuit. unless you have a drivability concern, don't worry about it.

    have you tried doing an injector volume test?? perhaps the #1 injector is flooding out the cylinder. try swapping the #1 and #2 injectors and see if the problem moves to #2.

    visually check for scores, rough spots. splines should be square not rounded, check for looseness or binding. also, have you checked the pinion angle?? the pinion and tailshaft angles need to be the same.

    I got a vaccum leak on my 89

    does the air vent to the defrost vents?? if so, i'd look for a bad check valve or leak under the dash. the vac hose for the A/C-heater system normally enter through the passenger side firewall.

    you know you're getting fuel how?? plug wet?? where did you check the spark?? plug wire or using the #1 plug?? what is the compression on all 4 cyls??

    there are 2 diferent systems. 1 with the purge valve (carbed) and 1 without it (EFI).

    how many times in a row did they test the ignition module?? sometimes needs to be tested 5 or 6 times. i would do as 94gtho stated and Replace the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. if you still have a problem, then do further diagnostics. for the jumpy tach...do a wiggle test on the tach wire...

    check the ignition timing. check the actual coolant temp...the fan won't turn on until about 220*. will the fan come on with the A/C?? does it overheat at cruise speed or at idle or both?? did you do a compression test?? a leak test??

    what's the coolant temp when it does this?? ON should be around 210-220*, OFF 185-193*.
