    then check for power at the EEC Power Relay. should have power at all times on Yellow wire. power with key ON on R/LG wire. relay ground is BK/W through EEC.

    there shouldn't be, the bolt shoud just hold the balancer on the crankshaft. if you remove the bolt you'll need a balancer puller/installer tool. did the original owner change the balancer?? don't know why they would but... this may sound like a stupid question but are you sure its a 1997...

    run the ground (you can never have too many grounds) the PK/BK is fed by an 18 gauge fusible link. do you have power on the Red wire with the key ON?? that wire comes from the EEC power relay.

    have you checked for power to the coils and the injectors with the key off?? i don't think 94s had PATS, they had an optional active alarm but not a passive on.

    does it overheat in traffic (under 25mph) or cruise (over 25mph) or both?? do you have the coolant full in the radiator?? not the overflow but the radiator. also, if the fan isn't coming on that's a prob. how are the fuses??

    according to my program, the pulley is attached by 4 bolts to the harmonic balancer (from the front). remove those 4 bolts and the pulley comes off. there is no need to remove the balancer. does the new pulley look like that??

    as 65Shelbyclone said. we need the numbers O2, NOx, CO2, HC, CO without those we're guessing. but HC is unburned fuel which normally coinsides with a misfire.

    the 4 nuts at the water pump shaft(where the pulley is) are the nuts you should remove. the fan doesn't need to be removed from the clutch unless you're going to change the clutch as well.

    you're right about the smell but the blueish gray is when the rings go bad, the smoke is white if the valve seals go bad.

    what was the number of the code?? (i can think of 5 off hand for the EGR system) we can't do a thing with diagnostics for that without knowing the number and if it is KOEO, KOER or continuous. you can check/pull the codes yourself. look for jrichkner's (may have spelt name wrong) post on it.

    Allen, this is for the 86 GT Speed Density car, right?? if so, you need to hook a intake vacuum hose to the BAP sensor and make it a MAP sensor.
