    Configuring Compression Ratio...

Also, don't forget to factor in valve relief dish volume in your calculations. Some flat tops (especially the ones with four reliefs) have quite a bit of volume (eg. Speed-Pro's Hypereutectic Flat Top Pistons list a volume of 12 cc's) I was shopping for pistons last night for my rebuild...

Looking to get back into the Mustang II scene.

Hey welcome back Mattie! It has been a long time. I haven't been around much myself until lately. So what happened to the tangerine coupe? Francis "Turbo II"

    Slipping at rest

I battled this problem with my '77, the symptoms you describe were what was happening on mine. First tried fresh type F and filter but that didn't do it, eventually I tore the tranny down and installed new clutch packs in both the forward and reverse-high clutches, this helped but not completely...

    Wheels: Almost There!

Rims look fantastic Denice, looking forward to the final pics. Putter: Haven't seen your car in person yet (I live 30 min. North of Calgary) Do you ever hit the weekly cruises with it? There's a group of car guys that hit the Dairy Queen on Centre and 18th almost every Thursday...

    Lacy Spoke Rims

Hey guys, I'm looking for one, two, three or a full set of lacy spoke rims. I don't really care what color background or even if they're white ones as I will be doing a full refurbish on them just as long as they don't have really bad gouges or are bent. These will eventually be going on a...

Several questions about my King Restoration

Good luck with the resto! David has provided excellent replies, I'll add a few thoughts where I can I have a Cobra II spoiler that is pretty messed up. To straighten it out, the first thing I did was weigh it down in the hot sun to help get the worst warps settled down, then I used a heat...

    parade

:nice: Keep up the PR Jon, nice to hear your getting lots of use (and fun) out of the car. Hope to join in myself someday soon, I just have to quit picking up more projects before I finish one :D (I'll be picking up "Elvis" plus another parts car this week) Francis

    Need carpet and window seals

Were you dealing with "The Mustang Shop"? Strange that they didn't help you out. I bought my ACC carpet from them a year or two ago from them for my daughter's '78. It wasn't cheap, but was comprable if I had purchased from an ACC dealer in the U.S. (once you factor in shipping/duty/exchange)...

    Finding Tires

Cooper still makes the Cobras in 195/70/13 and 205/60/13. I recently picked up a set of 4-lug Keystone Klassics in 13" so it looks like I'll be buying a couple more sets of tires this summer. http://www.coopertire.com/us/en/ProductDetails.asp?ProdType=Passenger&id=11&title=Passenger+Tires

    Small block cam/intake suggestions?

Sorry this subject has been beat to death before but as I age my memory fades ;) I've picked up a few bargains at swap meets and Ebay recently and now I'm trying to sort out what my best options are. Right now I have a few 302 cars I'm working on (4) but mainly I'm interested in your...

    Trim Question

I've had the best luck with removing the parts and buffing them on a large wheel. I have a bench grinder with a 8" polishing wheel that works well. If the part is badly scratched I first sand it with wet dry paper to remove the scratch working to finer grades. At either 800 or 1000 I stop and...

    1970Impala Part 2

Indeed, confirmed when I inquired about a '74 air deflector previously listed. I wonder why he uses a new name for selling, or how many identies he is now using?

    Winter Projects

Hey guys, been a while since I've been on. My new job has me too busy, but I'm learning a bunch of skills to help me with my IIs (I work at a fabrication shop where I'm the painter/sandblaster) Got access to plenty of steel plus welders (MIG/TIG/Arc), shears, brakes and other neat stuff. This...

    Where is Turbo II?

Steve & Jon, Thanks for thinkin of me! All is well, just haven't had much time to spend on the net or go to the track :( My reno job was going sour as my boss has decided to move, taking the tools and business with him. Hours were starting to to shrink as well so I started a new job at a...

Do mustang II come with posi

Sounds like your having fun :) Definitely sounds like you had (have) some clutch slippage from the symptoms you described. Since it has gone away you may have gotten some oil or other contaminants on it while it's been sitting for so long. This will cause slipping until it's been burned off...

    Yet another header question

Hey thanks guys! Steve, I'll take you up on that one of these days soon. Next time I'm heading in to the city I'll give you a shout. Which weekends are you racing the Cobra or are you strictly focusing on the Turbo car? Francis
