no throaty sound with new 40 series flows

Straight from the source huh :rlaugh: Are these the same guys that designed the cat-backs with too small of a ball-socket flare on the kits. "Tech department" They get louder, period.

Cam kit or buy the parts separately?

The 264 has good lobe profiles, but they aren't severe. The FRPP lifters are good. RedBlur had a set of Comps explode when riding on his XE274HR cammed stroker. I don't know if his lifters weren't adjusted properly, but I had heard that Comp was selling a bad batch there  I would...

Leakdown Test Results - Engine Guys Please Read

You're good ... your cylinders are within 5% of each other and there isn't a great lose of pressure either.

What does gear whine sound like?

I bought one that had the solid probe on the end, so it was made to find mechanical "ticks" only. I couldn't locate any exhaust leaks I had, because the air/sound waves had no way to travel up the probe. I went down to the parts store and bought a short, small I.D. steel brake line and cut the...

Real quick and easy question plz help

Since the assumption can be made that the car is Mexican shift ("Manuel") ... all you need is DexronIII/Mercon automatic tranny fluid. The drain and fill plugs are on the passenger side of the transmission case. Since the plugs have a female square shape in them, all you use to take them out...

no throaty sound with new 40 series flows

It's true, the closer you get to point of detonation the hotter it is ... and I guess the point I was trying to convey is that any areas that restrict or redirect flow will built more heat (cat, muffler). Carbon builds up more in the areas that are not direct paths of exhaust flow (corners and...

no throaty sound with new 40 series flows

Come on dude .. you think the carbon continues to build up in them until they're plugged as a soild block ... it burns. Ever seen a cat glow ... it isn't from a "lack of heat". I know you just don't want to admit you're wrong ... that's okay ... You're right. Most of us just tapped...

    331 or a 347 for daily driving?

What is the rest of his combination of parts: heads, cam, intake, etc I prefer a 331 myself, but the 347 from certain companies are good. If I was going to build a 347 for daily use, this is what I would buy: - A DSS level 20 5.0 bare block (with chamfered bores on the deck to unshroud...

    MagnaFlows with H?

I would trade 5 power digits for a healthy sound that gives wood vs picking up 5 and listening to an annoying fart everytime you drive the car. :notnice: I'm concidering picking up the MagnaFlow cat'd H to go with your guys' cat-back ... but honestly, which sounds "crisper" when bolted to...

Real quick and easy question plz help

Then I would call the company that makles it and ask them to hire an editor to proofread and make corrections on the poor spelling they put on the bottles .... :) You need an additive to go in with the gear oil ... A normal size tube of friction modifier. You put the complete...

The majority of people hear the change ... I guess we're all crazy and you're the sane one ... okay, then, so it is. Wishful thinking on our part. Ever notice how the tone changes from warm to cold to rich to lean ... pretty bizarre scientific hallucinations we got goin' here:flag:

    331 vs. 347

A few more whacks at the dead mule ... Let's just say both sides of the discussion are right for a minute ... Okay good, now focus dullardly just for a second. Ugg, ugg, me never, ever, ever hear "myth"/"reality"/"concern" that ugg 331 consume oil ...................... yet 'tis "rumored"...

Are you saying the gear oil you bought is approved for use in limited slips or are you saying you bought fluid with the limited slip additive already in it

    FRPP Shortie Headers

:stupid: When I bought my SSP (bone stock) the first thing I did was run full exhaust with 1-5/8" tube unequal shorties, a cat'd H and 3 chamber cat-back ..... it rev'd a little more freely up top and didn't choke out for an additional 500 rpms or so. (As is common knowledge amongst those that...

    MagnaFlows with H?

I hear ya ... but I bought a BBK H that had the crap fit too (prybar). It's hit and miss with most companies. The Bassani stuff is nice, but it's too expensive :nonono: Maybe $100 worth of materials for a $600 catback  ... that leaves 500 for labor and tooling. (Most...

It's funny how 80% of us hear the change ... and 20% haven't. I think I'll go with the 80 .... seems like better odds than Vegas. :nice: ... but it doesn't happen because mufflers are made of solid 3" titanium and do not change shape from heat caused by continuous fuel burn and heated...
