Why are the front and rear ports on a MC different sizes?

Ensuring proper connections is one part of it. Another is getting the correct amount of fluid volume and pressure to the appropriate systems. The rear brakes exert less stopping power than the fronts, and the fluid volume requirements will be different if you happen to have a disk/drum...

    Fog Lights and H4 Relays

I haven't done it yet, but plan to. When I do, I will use one new relay for them instead of trying to tie into the headlight relays for a couple of reasons. One, I want them to operate independantly. Two, I want to be sure there is plenty of capacity to power all the lights including the surge...

has anyone had experince with master power brakes?

I couldn't afford new 17" wheels, and with two kids in diapers won't be able to for awhile. I used the MPB kit and am basically happy with it. As previously posted, it was a bolt-in with the only mods being to the hard brake lines (cut and reflare, a little bending) and drilling/enlarging some...

Anyone retro-fit a factory tach to their Mustang?

I'm in the process. There are three basic changes that you need (in addition to the actual hardware including the tach and the cluster back which is different as mentioned above). 1 - we'll start with the easy job. You lose the oil pressure gauge and get an idiot light. So you have to change...

    disassembly

Taking it apart is the easy step! Just do as you've been advised and KEEP IT ORGANIZED. Use labels, bags, a video camera or pictures (digi or Poloroid are best so you can see them right away). For paint, the more you remove the better off you'll be. I drove mine to the shop with no windows...

    Rear interior quarter panel

The interior quarters are metal. Problem with trying to do bodywork on them is that they have the "leather" grain that you'll lose in sanding, etc.. Can't get them in reproduction, either. You'll have to find a set from salvage, or on Ebay. I have also seen them (and the doors) covered in a thin...

    master power brake disc install

Could be, I thought I'd bled them enough but I suppose it could be trapped somewhere. One more thing to add to the Mustang To Do list...

    Autolite 1100 woes

Bought one from Pony several years ago and couldn't have been happier. I replaced the choke stove and such at the same time. I did have to replace the seal around the accel. pump last summer but otherwise it has run like a top with that carb.

    master power brake disc install

I used the MP kit too, with a power booster and my only complaint is that they feel TOO soft. I was looking for something with a little bit more feedback. I can hardly tell when I'm about to lock them up. Any ideas? (I used the whole kit, including the new pedal).

    Consequences of exhuast leak?

There is also that annoying possibility of death by carbon monoxide poisoning to consider.

    Lower side scoops

You may also want to have some new gaskets on hand for them, I removed & replaced mine for paint and the original rubber was, shall we say, beyond it's serviceable life. Of course that's true for most any part of the car and probably stating the obvious, but it's been that kind of morning...

Guess the mystery parts in my oil pan!

My 289 has that "turkey pan", and the rivets look just like those.

    68 Upper Console Help

Just added one to my '67 coupe. I think I still have the article lying around, if I do I'll scan a copy for you. It's really a piece of cake, especially if you have the headliner out anyway. If you don't, the bracket can go over it but you'll have a little less visibility to where you're...

    Brake Warning Light Came on.

All the light does is detect a pressure difference between front and rear...it uses a little sliding valve to trip the light. If you aren't using the rear part of the distribution block I guess that slider is moving around a little and setting off your light. You can probably just disconnect it...

    67 Dash Lights -Flickering?

Some possibilities: 1. Bad ground from the dash panel to the car body (is it JUST dash lights, or other interior lights i.e. radio, courtesy if you have them). 2. The ubiquitious wire short somewhere 3. The headlight switch potentiometer. If you take the switch back out you'll see a...

    351 windsor cam in a 302

Why? I hope not because you have a used one lying around...a cam is something that isn't going to live long in a re-use situation, if you believe traditional advice. The lift and duration will vary, you can buy a wide range of them for the 351, just like you can for the 302...so there's no...

    Dash wiring...interior wiring

Where did you get that pillar gauge pod? I've added the factory tach to my '67 coupe and would really like to have the ammeter and oil pressure gauges back. I don't like hanging them under the dash and I also added the console so that real estate is getting a little dear, too.

Thinking of putting cats on my 67 Coupe...

Another cheap & quick thing to check...I had a similar problem with my '67 coupe and it turned out to be two very small fuel leaks. The first was the accelerator pump seal, which caused a small puddle of gas on the intake manifold (yikes). When that didn't fix the smell I kept looking and...

    Removing Window Glass

Moral of this story -- verify the source of the leak before you start trying to fix it. The hose trick works, I had to spend a couple of hours with that and a helper to finally find the leak when I reinstalled my windshield after new headliner. You'll drive yourself nuts trying to fix a leak...

    Question about windlace

My '67 coupe uses a long piece from the front lower corner of the door (near your feet) all the wall up and back to where the roof meets the quarter panel, and pinches the headliner in place. It tucks just under the sill plate in the front. There's a short peice at the rear door opening that...
