Steering Ram drop Bracket pulled out of Frame

If its not a show car why bother with the welded nutcert? Remove it, then run a longer bolt and use a big washer and lock nut outside of the frame rail.

    Suspension and alignment

I agree with #2, this happened to 2 people i know with Granada swap and Shelby drop. When they drive forward the front end rises like a boat in water. But when the car stops, the front end stays up. We cut the front coils a little and it stopped the rising effect.

Need a confirmation to buy the right parts... 56K Warning

Not always the nicest, moved evey 3 years for the past 30. Just settled down last month. John at Opentracker will take care of you, can probably get any suspension part you want. Reason I mention him is he will ship anywhere in the world and he uses regular postal service which might save...

    2006 seats in a 66?

I used 2006 Viper sears and also had to take the seat risers out. I left a small bit of the seat riser flange mounted to the floor all the way around though. I then used a rectanglular sheet that extended forward beyond the seat riser flange (front and rear) about 1" per side. It was maybe...

Mario, I am a linguist (Chinese Mandarin) and I noticed you were from Austria and new to the website. I just wanted to make you feel at home here on Stangnet, welcome. Growing up in a military family we moved around a lot, every three years. Something I always tried to do was pick up the...

    Hood Pins, quick question

I think I am the only one that said this. That is what I have done on 3 cars. I noticed mine were pointed forward and the slope of the hood didn't work with what I wanted. After I mounted my pins, I closed the hood onto them denting the hood where I would drill the holes. After the hole...

    Hood Pins, quick question

I bend them straight up. Make sure the pin threads don't catch the edge of the hole in the hood nor the chrome disc. It is a pain once they get caught shut.

New Here! 66 Coupe. Little Help

White smoke is typical for burning coolant via blown head gasket. The front shaking could be a lot of things. Ideas: wheel weight missing, hub nut loose, a suspension component coming loose like the control arms, or the alignment is off.

67 Fastback body on 2005+ chassis?

The cradle would have to be modified to bolt in like that under a 65-70. Its an interesting mod and would simplify the exhaust clearance issue.

Homemade t5 clutch quadrant using a stock cable

I've had a T5 in my 63 Falcon for 4 years, no problems with above pedal space. I did something similar to 57 Fairlane, just welded a bolt to the pivot point on the clutch pedal and mounted a foxbody aftermarket quadrant on it. Works just like the MustangSteve setup. I like the homemade...

67 Fastback body on 2005+ chassis?

Look again, you probably saw a DVS kit or a modified IRS cradle. I wish it was even a half bolt-in. I have two Cobra IRS drop outs. None of the 4 points of the Cobra IRS bolt-in to a classic (65-70), unless you consider the foxbody a classic. All 4 mounting points on the Cobra IRS cradle are...

67 Fastback body on 2005+ chassis?

The Cobra IRS isn't a bolt in for classics but DVS sells a kit to make it so. I modded my IRS cradle so that it bolts under my 66 but it took a LOT of test measurements and trial fitting. I'm still using the classic rear shocks too. Another Cobra IRS swap LOTS OF BIG PICS! - Vintage Mustang...

    What would you guys do?

I like to drive them while I fix them. A lot of mods like disc brakes, or 5 speed swap can be weekend projects. Save up during the week, gather parts while you drive. When you have everything gathered for a project plan that weekend out for a project mod. You'll get to feel the fruits of...

67 Fastback body on 2005+ chassis?

The 96 Vert I found, it rear ended a semi and blew the air bags, killed the hood, headlights, AC condenser, radiator, fenders, and fender aprons above the front bumper. The engine turns over fine, picked the lot up for $800 with a clean title. If i had the right mind I could have just fixed...

    Vent Window Delete Kit??

Those guys built the black Nemesis with a very small triangle in front of the door glass and used lexan windows. You could gut the front glass channel and move it forward. You'd nee glass or lexan the correct size to fill the void. I think it might be tough to do all glass above the door...

67 Fastback body on 2005+ chassis?

Yeah, that is going to be my next project, an 05+ with a 65-70 body on it. I too noticed the similar wheelbase recently. The 0.9" difference might not be so noticeable with larger wheels like 18's. I'm currently building a 66 coupe/96 chassis mod, much more similar to the SN65 project with...
