    For the quickest and best kick in the seat of the pants... Upgrade your rear axle ratio to at least a 3:50 -1. If you aren't planning on any long trips, just driving around town you could go to a lower ratio. Then the 600CFM will work fine for you. Too many people over-carb.

    Starting circuit If you can't trace it to ignition, I would try looking at the starting circuit. Either a bad ground, solenoid or the starter itself may be shorting out.

    I'd still be curious what it feels like to loose 3 ft of turning radius. Does that mean that you need to crank the wheel over more than usual? What does it feel like on a normal road course?

    Running no thermostat?

    IF you have a car that runs hot, a 190+ thermostat will take longer to open & close quicker. That will keep the car just a little bit cooler, but you still get resaonable warm-ups, heat in the winter etc.

    It won't hurt anything running without a thermostat. It will just take forever to get the car warmed up. You would be much better off getting the hottest thermostat that you can find.
