I tried to find instructions at Crutchfield but all I came up with was a removal tool, (nail puller?), no instructions on how to install: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=18187650 Infinity Kappas way to rich for my budget. I surfed and Googled high and low and can't find...

    Front struts gone bad?

They were real bad. "Bad shocks will cause the car to bounce and feel springy. If thats not the case, dont change them." That is true with shocks, but opposite with bad front struts where mashing on the front fender trying to make it bounce, you can't make it bounce and with my 205 lbs on a...

    Front struts gone bad?

I went by the Ford place and tried mashing down on four low mileage 04 V6's and I could make them all bounce, go down maybe four inches and comes back up and stops. Mine I can not make bounce at all, most I can depress it is about inch to half inch, so the struts must be locked up. I read...

I think my heads might be blown...I need help

Forgot to tell you. They make a special machine to flush cooling systems and if you ask around you should be able to find a shop that has one. They take the stat out and hook the machine up to the engine and radiator and use a cleaning agent and run it through one way then reverse the flow and...

I think my heads might be blown...I need help

The heads and the block are made of different metal and they heat expanded at different rates causing the head gasket to leak. I thought Ford fixed it in 96 as I have a 96 with 115K miles on it and never replaced the gasket. I saw here, they make a special head gasket you can use to solve...

    Clutch Repair

If the flywheel has been gouged take it to a machine shop and they can smooth it out for about a hundred bucks, no need to buy a new one. My 96 has 115K on it and had release bearing, clutch and pressure plate replaced with labor $325. The flywheel was not hurt so the guy buffed it where it was...

New fuel pump making grinding sound.

I understand where you're coming from, BUT, my point is, AAP has recourse to the people who sold them the pump and I do not. I've worked in Corporate America and know my way around and plan to write AAP home office and find out who sells them their pumps and advise them of my displeasure...

New fuel pump making grinding sound.

Bought a nice 96 V6 and when sitting still engine idling noticed a very audible whine coming from the back, mechanic said it was the fuel pump going bad and with 115K miles on it should be replaced. Got a new fuel filter, pump and sock that goes over pump intake from Advance Auto Parts all cost...

5 spd tranny problem.Very stubborn trying to engage into first gear.

I'm not a tranny pro but sounds like a synchronizer is out of whack. What kind of tranny fluid did you use? Ford says use automatic trans fluid, sounded strange to me so I asked a tranny pro why not use regular 80-90W gear oil. He said synchronizers made out of fiberous material and regular gear...
