headers... so many to choose from!

Full lengths are the way to go. BBK makes nice headers and they aren't that expensive. They also make a Cat H that will bolt right up to the headers. You can choose just about any cat back to bolt up after the H. I'd go with MAC. They sound really nice, especially with the FL's. BBK short...

I've had two very...VERY close calls. One was on a cold rainy night. It had just started to rain and It was late. I was coming down this hill here in my home town and I was going below the speedlimit because I know there are usually police nearby. I was just about to go through the light and I...

    Romoving heads with roller rockers?

one rod per rocker, two rockers per cylinder the rod in the spring part is your valve. you need a compressor to pull the springs. Let the machine shop do that. Unless you have a spring compressor...

    Romoving heads with roller rockers?

the machine shop is going to pull the rockers off anyway..If they are stock heads, they are ped mount and just bolt down. Its not a big deal. If you really didn't want to take them off, you might be able to loosen it enought to pitiv the rocker away from the pushrods.

    Trick Flow Vs gt40 Manifold

The 19's will be ok until you swap heads. Even then, you may still be able to get away with them. The intake, TB, and a new MAF will add a good amount of power. You'll defiantly notice it. I'm guessing maybe 25-30 hp over stock... Anyone else?

    Trick Flow Vs gt40 Manifold

The Gt-40 upper can be improved. Extrude honed. Its expensive, and really doesn't yield that much more of a gain. There are also people out there that cut the dog leg out of the runner between the tb and plenum. Its easier and more cost effective just to by an intake that has higher flow...

    Trick Flow Vs gt40 Manifold

I never said it was bad..I have no experience with SD cars. I'm just going by what I've heard. I know you can make anything fast...But if SD is just as good as Mass Air, why do so many people convert thier SD cars to Mass air? Especially with blowers and turbos... the motors from 88-89 are...

    Trick Flow Vs gt40 Manifold

They are both good intakes. The GT-40 intake is probably better on a mild (stock heads, cam) engine. The TFS may make a little more power on a modified motor over the GT-40. It really depeneds on how modified you go though. I run a GT-40 intake on my car and it runs really great. I've thought...

Almost ran myself over last nite

Did you learn your lesson from this? Tough way to learn a lesson. Your lucky you didn't get seriously hurt. Just be thankful...You can never be too careful. I go a little over board sometimes. I triple check everything. What happened, were the wires touching on the solinoid or the starter...

Drag radials, how do they stick in winter?

Stay away from DRs as everyday tires. On cold days, its sometimes hard to get them to hook at the track even. Water and DR's don't mix well either. Driving on the streets with DRs in my opinion should be limited to, to and from the track only. Just my opinion though.. They wear out quick too....

    Friend is annoying. Read on.

would it be so tough to just say its a 347? Don't get bent out of shape about him spending his money. It is his after all. I know plenty of people who have some serious cars and bikes and drive and ride them like little old ladies.

    Torque arm/panhard bar question

My MM suspended Saleen is a great driver. These guys know how to put a system together. Everything went together great, and works even better. I've got no complaints with MM. Car flat out smokes through corners, and gets a hard bite off the line. I was surprised just how well it hooks off the...

    why wont my car start?

I would have replaced the solinoid before the starter. Check your battery cables too. I chased a starting problem for a day with my old Yota before finding that my battery cable had corrosion under the sleeve. :bang: If I jiggled the cable and bent it, The truck would start no problem. Other...

    which intake for a 347

The lower intakes on the Street Heat and Track heat are the same, aren't they? Couldn't you just get the Track Heat upper and save a few bucks? I was under the impression that the upper for the track heat just had shorter runners which raised the Power into the upper RPM range. Correct me if...

    why wont my car start?

Do you have a voltmeter? Get the car fired up and put the meter on the battery. it should read 14+ volts. 14.2-14.4 with the motor spinning above idle. Thats if the battery is ok. Do you have a charger? If you do, set it up and let it charge over night. You should atleast have 12 volts if the...
