Car is giving me some problems. PLEASE help...

Hard to say what that sound was. Only thing I can recommend is to get underneath the dashboard and look around. You may need to remove the driver's seat to do a more thorough search. How does your clutch pedal feel? I wonder if that 'pop' you heard was from the factory clutch quadrant? And as...

    COBRA IN TROUBLE NEED HELP

Have you checked for any computer codes? The EEC-V may or may not show the IMRC failure. When the secondaries do not open up, the engine effectively starves for air at the high rpm band. If you do decide to clean the IMRC plates, might as well pick up a new IMRC controller box. Fordparts.net...

    Next Mods to 96 Cobra

Sounds to me like the previous owner installed aftermarket gears and did not install either the proper speedo gear to compensate. Ask the previous owner what ratio of gear if any he had installed. What's the rpm @ 60 mph?

What Gas Station Do You Use?

If you have a Costco nearby with a gas station and are a member , try them. Their gas is usually about 10 cents cheaper a gallon. Been using it in my car for years and never have had a driveability problem.

    FR500 Steering wheel Install

You can do it. I also grabbed the wheel and yanked on it as well, the combination of the two worked. I did not use a big hammer.

    FR500 Steering wheel Install

I had this problem on my car, I finally resorted to getting a hammer and hitting it from the backside. Spray a little WD-40 on the shaft. Some people say to just grab the wheel @ the 9 and 3 o'clock and 11-5 o'clock positions and yank on it but that did not work for me. When I used a hammer (...

    97'Cobra weak points

May have been a fluke on my car, but once I had an axle seal go bad. It's easy to spot. Look for any gear oil leaking out of the tubes, it will also coat the inside of the rim. I caught the problem before it lost fluid completely.

    Sub-Frames on Non-Vert worth it?

It was the first thing that I did on mine. Had a Fox body previously so I wanted to nip this issue in the bud early on. Fox4 chassis is strong but still needs some help in the stiffness department. When I had mine installed on the Cobra, could feel an increase in stiffness, especially when I...

    car cover questions

I have been using the Noah cover for almost five years now and it's a great outdoor cover to use all year long. Thick and breathable and not too heavy to store. This cover is the only thing that has been protecting my car from the elements. I suggest buying a car cover bag and a anti-theft kit...

Steel shavings in oil...what to do?

That's exactly what I was going to say. It's cheap ( about 15 to 20 dollars) and the lab can definitely see what kind of particulates are in the oil and that can lead you to find the cause of the problem before you take it in to the dealer. I believe NAPA still carries the lab kit. When you were...

    m roadster vs. 98 cobra

Is this car an M roadster or the newer Z8? If it is the Z8, it has the M5 V-8 engine. But he could just be another one of those smart-aleck know it all's too that has an M.

Subframe Connectors that aren't weld-in, good or bad?

And make sure the negative battery cable is disconnected. You don't want to run the risk of frying your computer. Whatever you do, don't get the ones that bolt in. After time, the bolt holes will elongate because the bolts will loosen from resisting all that chassis flex and then they are...

    Advice Needed for TIRES

I had the Nitto 555ZR's on my Cobra a few years ago and they are a wonderful tire. Check nittotire.com As far as sizes, they only carry a limited selection of sizes though. Getting back to the Nitto's; they were great in the rain, had predictable grip in the corners. The only reason I have my...

    Mr. Clean car wash

I will. I bought mine at Target last week for $19.99. In it they had a sample bottle of car wash and filter. It does everything they said it would do. I managed to was my car and my mother's Cadillac. No spots at all on both cars. It said on the samples that it was enough for approximately 3...

What X pipe did you use and why? Which Catback?

I chose the Bassani X pipe with cats because in an old issue of MM&FF they said that with that Bassani pipe and the Flowmaster 3 chambers that they had on Project Superfly (And my car already was equipped with those) it gave the engine tone a Ferrari-esque sound at high revs. Sold! Plus, Bassani...
