New best from the track last night!

Congrats man! It always feels good to see that 11 second timeslip. With that mph, theres still more on the table too!

    Got the longtubes installed today

Thats a pretty good price for LT installation on these cars. Mine quited down a bunch when I put LT's on it, until I went WOT. Mine definately pulls harder above 3k rpm, under it is about the same as before.

Couple questions on BBK longtube install, 2004 GT

That looks like the gasket that was on mine stock. I can't believe they cost that much though, geez. I'd just get either the FRPP ones or the Bassani's.

anyone put stang longtubes on crown vic?

I know a guy that had an ex-police Crown Vic with some mods. Can't remember if he ever put headers on it or not. I'll ask him and get back with you. edit: I asked my friend about it and he says he thinks they will not fit, but he isn't 100% certain. He told me to check out...

    Transmission alignment.

x2 on checking the motor mounts. Did you support the engine when the tranny was out of the car?

    Vibration at 90+ MPH

The driveshaft may need to be balanced for the new rear end. It was probably fine with the stock rear setup. I'd take it to a shop that can do that and go from there. It will surely be cheaper than buying an aluminum driveshaft.

    3.73 vs. 4.10 - My actual experience

True, but typically the 5.0's make a little more low-rpm torque so they don't need as much gearing as a 4.6.

    3.73 vs. 4.10 - My actual experience

Throttle position plays a big role as well. With 4.10's you don't need as much peddle as you would with 3.73's to accelerate at the same rate. Driving style plays the biggest part of getting good mileage.

    3.73 vs. 4.10 - My actual experience

Idk man, my gps is right on with my speedo. @ 2500 rpm I am doing just under 75 mph. edit: The tranny in my car is from an 04 Mach 1 with the 0.62 5th gear ratio. The GT 3650 5th gear is 0.67 I believe. That is why mine is turning less rpm @ 70 mph than yours.

Couple questions on BBK longtube install, 2004 GT

BBK's should have the ball/socket flange on the headers/midpipe connection. Here's a link to a FRPP gasket... Ford Racing Header Gaskets - M-9448-A462

    3.73 vs. 4.10 - My actual experience

    5 speeds + 4.10's ftw! I'm only turning 2300 @ 70 mph.

terminator short block with 2v heads?

Nah, the 03/04 Cobra blocks were cast iron. The earlier model Cobra's were aluminum, as are the Mach 1 blocks. As for using the Termi shortblock, I would think that you may end up with less than stock compression. I don't know the size of the combustion chamber on the 2 different heads to...

Couple questions on BBK longtube install, 2004 GT

If you already have some sort of canned tune from a Predator or SCT handheld, you should be alright. If not, a tune will help a little. But on a bolt-on car, it won't add much. Maybe put it on a dyno just to see the hp/tq and a/f numbers. As long as you a/f ration is in the 13:1 area you...

Couple questions on BBK longtube install, 2004 GT

Yes, those are the correct bolts. The install price isn't too bad for LT's really. They are not a hard install, just a little time consuming. Your driveability will not change by adding LT's. If anything, it will lean out the a/f a bit, which won't hurt you running NA. A tune is not...

Couple questions on BBK longtube install, 2004 GT

I would think those gaskets would be fine, but if you are worried about it get some of the Bassani gaskets. Bassani Comp Header Gaskets - 4654 I've heard really good things about them. I used these on mine and have no leaks as of yet... Seal-4-Good - Header Flange Gaskets - Ford - Seal-4-Good...

    N/A NPI... 12.01@114

Very nice! Really, your 60' and mph are good enough for high 11's now. Do you ever play around with your shift points to see if it will pick up any et or mph?

    Back in the mustang game!

Nice! If it were my car, I would call up Brenspeed and get a tune from them. They do wonders on the s197 cars! A friend of mines car ran 12.39 @ 110 w/bolt on's and a Brenspeed tune.

    REDNECK MUSTANG PICTURE THREAD!

Well, fwiw, when I had the big and littles on my car. The ride quality was so much better than with the stock 17's. I'm not into cornering hard so nothing changed with that. Also, my gas mileage got noticeably better with the lighter wheels/tires.
