    Front End Alignment

I was real close to buying the vario-centric plates and welding them in to allow what I thought would be an easier way to get an accurate alignment on my '65, but after reading a couple posts about it, now I'm not so sure. My initial desire to do it was to be able to get as much tire under the...

    351 Hp/value estimate

Wow. How much was your Edelbrock 600 carb? I forgot to mention the included MSD box, seems like those two things alone would be $500 in new condition. And how much does it cost to get a block dipped and magnafluxed?

    351 Hp/value estimate

Compression ratio tested at 9.5:1, work done by local machine shops that have been in business for some time. I personally don't have any experience with them. He says he has about $2200 in it, he's going to craigslist it for $1800. He's just in a pinch and is selling the truck that he was...

    351 Hp/value estimate

A buddy of mines brother is selling a 351W that he was building to put in his truck. Engine originally came out of a boat, and it's thought to be an 83-88 era block. It's got: 351 block bored .030 over, decked, dipped, and magnafluxed Hypereutectic pistons, 9-1/2:1 compression crank work...

    Tire Squeeling...front end troubles

This was way before ebay, I think I got the parts from a company called Kanter(sp) about 20 years ago. The lower balls were the only ones I had trouble with, though. Replaced them with a good set from Virginia Mustang Supply (now Virginia Classic Mustang), never had another problem.

    Tire Squeeling...front end troubles

Does it just do it under acceleration? I bought a cheap set of lower ball joints several years ago, and every time I would accelerate hard to where the nose of the car would rise, the tires would squeal terribly and the nose would get hung up high until I slammed on the brakes causing the front...

    Suspension questions

I did this several years ago. Not only are there three rivets at the ball joint itself, but the bracket that the ball joint sits in (which is part of the replacement part) is spot welded to the arm itself 2 or 3 inches up the control arm. I thought we'd never get them off. I will never do...

    5 bolt vs 6 bolt bellhousing Q

I want to install a T5 of some sort, and the info I have read indicates that depending on what engine/bellhousing I have will determine whether I need just an adapter plate or a whole new bellhousing (at least that's what I make of it), so I need to find out what I have in order to find out what...

    5 bolt vs 6 bolt bellhousing Q

Thanks for the responses. I'll check it out. The only thing I had ever seen showing the difference was in parts catalogs for the bellhousing to engine plates, and I could never keep my bolt count straight.

    5 bolt vs 6 bolt bellhousing Q

Is the bolt difference in the motor end or the tranny end? I'm not sure where to look to see what I have.

    Doing Shelby drop

Got my template and 17/32nds drill bit from dazecars. Worked great. This is one measurement that you definitely want to double and triple check before going forward.

    Doing Shelby drop

I almost screwed mine up, too. Make sure your template will go over the studs on the control arm to make sure dimension is right. I had zeroxed mine out of the Branda catalog, didn't realize that the copier would scale it slightly. Glad I caught it before I drilled. I think the only thing...

    Aftermarket Gauges - Pics Wanted

Thanks for the pics, guys. They all look sharp. BobV, I was thinking of going that route, but I like how clean it looks having the tach in beside the speedo. Plus I don't want to cut up my new dashpad to put the Shelby pod in. Did anybody try black gauges on black bezel? In my head it...

    Aftermarket Gauges - Pics Wanted

Looking for pictures of you guy's dashes with aftermarket bezels and or guages. Looking to upgrade from the idiot lights, and don't know which way to go (other than I'd love to have but can't afford JME's). I have a '65 with black interior, so those with that combo would be most interested...

    Shock tower drain

I'm doing the shelby drop and cleaning up the wheel well to install my new opentracker control arms. I guess when the car was new, someone went crazy with the rubberized undercoating and absolutely flooded the pan in the shock tower under where the control arms mount. I chipped out chunks 3/8"...

    How to Choke?

If you go with a manual choke, don't get a cheap cable like I did (I think it was $10 at Kmart several years ago). The cheap cable had so much flex in it, I could pull the knob in and out 1-1/2" and it barely moved the choke plate. When I get a new manifold/carb, I'm definitely goiong electric.

    Rolling my fender lips

Buy it used off ebay, use it, then resell on ebay and probably get out of it what you paid for it.

help w/ rust around rear window on 66

I think that's the understatement of the century. Whatever you end up doing, make sure you get it absolutely right or you will have a really hard time getting a windshield to seal properly. Mine wasn't nearly that bad, a few places with pinhole rust, and I always had leaky windshields (until I...

    Some NICE parts for sale

Please email me pics of wheels/tires to rhinebaugh at comcast . net You had a '65, right? Did you ever put them on? Pics on the car would be great, if you have them. Did you work out the spacer/adapter thickness? My application is a '65 coupe. Are they the Ford rims, or another manufacturer?
