    I think that's a bit too optimistic. Road tests of the day usually listed it as 56/44 for a 289 equipped car. Big block cars were around 59/41.

    That's not correct: With a wider LSA, the intake valve is closed later, so the effective (dynamic)compression ratio would be lower, not higher.
