    another dumb question

I use Fram on all four of my cars and have never had a single issue with them.

    another dumb question

I must completley (yet respectfully) disagree. While your internal temp is controlled, ambient air temp going into your engine absolutely has a direct affect on your performance. If you think your engine is going to perform exactly the same in 50 deg with low humidity or 110 deg with high...

Actually, they're not recommendations. They're simply responses to his question... He's good on the 5w20 though. :nice:

    Launch Suspension

Real good input. Thank you! I have a centri (vortech) blower and 3.73 gears. The strip where I run is prepped second to none. I'll have to look at what tq I'm running at 2300 rpm where I launch. Launching higher is possible, but until I know how that will affect my stock tranny and axle, I'm...

    another dumb question

x3 5w30 If you have high mileage and your car's always run regular oil, I'd check before going synthetic. I've heard it can be cause more harm than good.

Do you both run a stock 4r70w? I would think launching that high would put a serious amount of stress on both the tranny and a stock 28 spline axle. I stand corrected. While reponding to another thread, I looked at my ticket and apparently ran a 1.937 60'. I guess I don't suck as bad as I...

    Launch Suspension

no, of course not. I'm saying I don't want to put my car through a transformation to go from one to the other. Did that once early on...never again. So I heard back from several vendors including UPR and Maximum Motorsports. Both agree that I needed to focus on the rear setup first. I was...

    Launch Suspension

I've been tempted to make changes like that, but again I'm not looking to cut 60's at all costs. I'm looking for the most efficient lauch to match my application. I want the car at the strip to be the same car at the street light. No mods for the sole purpose of et's. Alot of the feedback...

    Launch Suspension

You're right. I'm sure the 2.0 60' has something to do with the quality of driver. If you're way off base, you still clearly have a better understanding than I do. To clarify, I've always run the Nitto 555R's. The 275's are what I was braking loose. I've tried several different...

I'd like to hear from some centrifugally blown daily driver owners.

Not to get off topic, but I like that dash/gauges setup. I haven't seen one like that. On topic, your setup appears to be almost identical to mine (see pics thread). I have mine detuned from 420 back to around 360 but I don't have the power pipe. You're easily at 400+.

    Launch Suspension

Thanks for the feedback, guys! What I'm looking for is the best launch I can get while keeping the car safe and reliable. I had the car at 420+ to the rear wheels but backed it off because it was too much for the rest of the drive train. Balance is the key. I have plenty of hp to get into the...

Is this a lost art or what? Surely someone must be knowledgable about suspension.

I agree. If you behave (most of the time) and properly maintain it, which it sounds like you will, reliability is a non-issue.

    Launch Suspension

I'm researching possible options to improve my launch at the strip and I noticed that quite a bit has changed in the theory of weight transfer since even just a few years ago. There seems to be very little regarding SN95's anymore and I don't want to assume principles for S197's are the same as...

    4r70w

I've found that running in OD is better only if it's constant. If you keep droppong in and out of OD like in stop and go traffic or up and down hills, just keeping it off will probably net you better mileage. Actually though, how fast you accelerate will have a larger impact on your gas mileage.

official 4.6 liter Mustang photo thread

How ironic we put so much TLC into our rides to make them real eye catchers and then take (for the most part) such lousy pictures. I say we start a thread for the photographically challenged. I'll be the first person to sign up. BWT, 02LaseRed2v, that is an awesome...
