First time at the track is coming up..

Don't worry about it. It will put as much wear on the rear brakes as a hard stop from highway speed, thats it. No wear on the front brakes at all. Remember to turn the traction control off for the burnout, if you've got it. Seriously, for your first couple runs I would skip the burnout...

    2001 GT Clutch

The previous owner might have put an adjustable cable or firewall adjuster on it. If so, you can adjust the engage/release point higher. If not, you can buy a quadrant and firewall adjuster and then adjust it yourself. You also might have a broken factory quadrant. They are plastic and...

    Super suspension

Sometimes the sportlines lower the car enough that you can't get the camber settings right. Caster camber plates will help the tires last longer. Worn out shocks let everything bounce around more, which is harder on the tires and the bushings. Good shocks and struts will help the car...

First time at the track is coming up..

The Nittos are good. Tips for your first time: Relax. Your reaction time doesn't have any effect on your time. The clock doesn't start counting untill the car rolls, so just relax and concentrate on working your feet so you leave hard without spinning.

    Rev Limiter?

Actually the factory limiter is much easier on the engine. It shuts the fuel completely OFF: No misfires, no raw fuel dumped in the exhaust or on the hot exhaust valves, no backfires, no lean cylinders either. The fuel is not lean, it is off - big difference. Not like I do it often, but...

    overheating only while parked

Definitely an airflow problem. 3 core radiators actually sometimes make it worse, because they are harder to pull air through. You can put the stock water pump pulley on to speed the fan up some. You will still have most of the power gains from the pulleys because the underdrive crank will...

    Throttle body size? need help

65 is all you need right now. A 70 wouldn't hurt if you are planning heads/cam/intake upgrades down the road. 75 is much bigger than you need and will require port matching to line up with the intake opening. It will also be harder to get the air hose on and off.

    Need Help W/ Suspension!!!

Steeda makes spacers that will raise the front 1/2 inch. They are very inexpensive. Usually they come as part of the X2 balljount kit which corrects the geometry on lowered cars, but if you use the spacers by themselves it will raise the front 1/2 inch.

    Aftermarket Lower Control Arm Question

Level is probably the wrong word. They should be straight. It looks like you have the level sitting up on one of the welds where the bushing tube is welded to the main body of the arm.

installed new clutch cable.....easier to push now!!!

Cool. If the BBK quadrant was designed for an adjustable cable, it might make the cable too tight when you sandwich the adjuster in between the firewall and the cable end fitting, especially as the clutch wears. The cable gets tighter as the clutch wears. Get a good firewall adjuster that...

    Clutch/flywheel re-install. Two questions.

I've always used red locktite and never had a problem with oil leaking through. The most important thing to keep them from backing out is to make sure they are all torqued properly.

    97 disc brakes????

To use the 97 brakes on a 90 you have to swap over the whole spindle assembly and switch to 5 lug wheels. People do it all the time, but it's not just as simple as bolting on new calipers and rotors.

    Clutch Cable Problem

When the clutch wears the clutch fork moves farther back. With a new clutch the fork always sits farther forward. It is normal to have to adjust the cable tighter after you put in a new clutch (if you have and adjustable cable or a firewall adjuster). If it is an adjustable cable there...

    stupid question but doubting myself

On a mostly stock mustang, 2 1/2" pipes are worth about 1 hp over 2 1/4. On a high horsepower car it is a whole other story...

    P.I. Intake opinion

Lifting the injectors 1/8 inch or so (with the plates) might alter the spray pattern enough to cause a slight loss in part throttle fuel economy, but it won't cause the car to go lean at wide open throttle. The same amount of fuel is still going in the intake to mix with the air. How is...

Power steering pump pressue hose washer

Patience. Practice. A little bit of cursing might help too. It will strtch a very little bit and roll on. Then you have to untwist it with a pick once it is on there. I've tried to screw them on but can never get a good enough grip. Be prepared to run back to the dealer for another...

Which Intake Manifold Holley or Typhoon?

If the budget is tight but you want something with better fit and quality than the Typhoon, you might want to look at the cast Cobra intake. It's not the top dog for horsepower, but it still works very good and is a little easier to install than the Edelbrock. Plus it you don't have to buy an...

    best replacement tranny

T-56 is heavier, takes a little more horsepower to turn, more work to install, and costs more. It also requires more rear gear because the ratios are taller. That makes your driveshaft balance more critical, becaue the driveshaft spins faster for the same vehicle speed when you use steeper...
