    It's not so much the AMPs of the alternator. The 6G is supose to be lighter, use less power to turn, and run cooler than previous versions.

    Do it. Well worth the $15 bucks in gaskets IMO. I did this on the recomendation of "Thumper" and it worked really well. I personaly had no loss in top end and gained gobs of low end power.

    I had one back when they were sold under the Hartman name. For the $300 they want for it you'd be farther ahead with a Cobra or Explorer intake.
