    Versailles Axle Re-Install

I think we did mine the first time with a large socket or piece of pipe... been a long time. Yeah, too many seals for me. The factory seals always leaked on mine, but I think that could ultimately be ruled to be a result of the bent axle I had... Too many seals though is one reason why I...

    Disc Brake Conversion Question

Sorry, thought O'Reilly's had those, but was looking at the center hose... FYI - C/V means "Crown Victoria"

    Versailles Axle Re-Install

You're missing a seal. There's an inner seal that goes inside the housing itself. As far as special treatment, far as I know you just coat them lightly with diff oil before installing. Adds a little extra lubrication at initial start. If you don't have a repair manual. This link has a...

    Disc Brake Conversion Question

It's got 2 lines. I think the fitting / plug in the picture may be an adapter to get the thread to the right size for factory lines, but I could be wrong. Just know it's got 2 lines (1 per bowl).

    Disc Brake Conversion Question

O'Reilly's carries the brake hoses, calipers, pretty much everything (except e-brake cables... :() O'Reilly Auto Parts - Shopping As far as the adapter goes, it's possible the number changed as that was nearly 10 yrs ago now. I'll have to look under the car to see what is actually under...

    Versailles Axle Re-Install

No, they should fit tight. At least I'm assuming you're talking about the race fitting tight to the housing which it should. Don't forget the inner and outer seals as well. The outer seal can only be replaced when the bearing is out since it's part of the caliper bracket. I guess...

    Disc Brake Conversion Question

tx65coupe, don't know where you're located, but you can come look at the versailles rear end on my '67 if you're near Houston. If i were you, I'd seriously reconsider using the Versailles brakes unless you got a killer deal on them (and even then...). Stopping power isn't all that good and...

Versailles Rear End & T-5 Setup

I got my driveshaft made by Denny's Driveshafts and was very pleased. It's a mailorder shop so you give them the dimensions and what yoke / u-joint setup you want and it's custom made. Note - I had to run shims under my axle and raise the rear of the transmission to get proper driveline...

    Wipers return to "Home"

BarnStang, I bet you're right. I think it was probably a crucial piece of info that the foot pump is no longer there... I'll check this in the morning, thanks!!

    Wipers return to "Home"

Old thread revival, but stuck... Replaced the wiper motor and the wiper still don't "park". Following my Ford shop manual troubleshooting guide I jumpered the white / black wires and connected red to power on the motor and it "parked" by itself just fine. Pulled the switch and again...

    Odd Turn Signal Issue

FIXED!! Put in a heavy duty flasher module off the generic rack at the parts store. Works like a champ. Thanks D.Hearne and all those who chimed in!

    Wiper Motor Vendor Recommendation

Need a new wiper motor. John's Mustang (local here in Houston) has them for like $80. Autozone lists one at like $50. Anyone know if there's a significant difference in quality? Know you often get what you pay for, but I'm wondering if the big difference in price is really justified...

    Odd Turn Signal Issue

Brake Lights do work. I'll look into the column... Dash / steering wheel are all off the car. Switch is relatively (well, miles wise). Hope it's not that... Forgot to add: Indicator on the dash doesn't come one for the driver's turn signal...

    Odd Turn Signal Issue

Did a search before I posted, but couldn't seem to find a similar set of symptoms.. What Doesn't Work: Driver's side Turn Signal when activated by turn signal switch (on solid) What Does Work: Emergency Lights (both) Passenger Turn Signal (flashed fine with switch). Parking Lights...

    headlight bucket fit issue

Your fit really isn't that bad. Unless you want to spend some serious time swapping parts in and out, I'd stay with it! I've got the opposite situation on my car. Cheap repo fenders and original Ford buckets. One side fit perfectly, fender line matches and all. Other side, the fender was...

    Backup Lights - 5spd Issues

The splice into the factory harness is buried in the dash which I'll dive into this weekend. This is probably where the problem is... Applied power direct to the battery and used the harness ground and the lights come on, so that ground is good. Has to be a voltage issue...
