Crazy 408 in the works....Compression Ratio question

How many camshafts have you degreed in? how many of these same camshafts have you measured cylinder pressure? Then, using the same setup, how many times have you moved the camshaft timing fwd or rev to increase engine output... then measured the cylinder pressures to see what's happening...

Are these heads any good a3b

You'll want to knock that off with a grinder if you decide to use these heads which IMO are not as efficient as say... E7s.

Crazy 408 in the works....Compression Ratio question

BINGO! The OP stated his CR is 8.xx:1 He also stated he will be using the camshaft designed for boost. In my experience, you are incorrect... cylinder pressure is extremely important and is never misleading. You can dial in a camshaft using cylinder pressure, you cannot using CR. Because...

    Milky Oil??

Very short periods of operation promote water/moisture more than long periods. If this is stored indoors and then ran, it wouldn't matter... the temp differential is not enough to promote water/moisture.

Crazy 408 in the works....Compression Ratio question

I'm interested in what the average cylinder psi is? A custom camshaft is definitely in order, and should help a bunch but you're still leaving a lot on the table with those pistons.

    3 angle valve job question

It is now 2009. There's now a large "following" of performance parts availabl for the SBF. Doing things old school is no longer required, and will cost you more in the long run. Today we have 18 year olds with daily drivers that would blow the doors off a similar "effort" setup of 30 years ago.

    3 angle valve job question

I agree with just about everything said "Gearbanger" which makes "Cobra_Dustin" 100% correct... milling heads to up compression is not the right way to do it.

What heads are you talking about and where are they stamped? This is interesting to me.

Crazy 408 in the works....Compression Ratio question

How do you calculate CR without the compression height of the piston, depression of the piston top area and ring position? You need to check your cylinder psi. If your camshaft is in fact for boost, and you run it N/A and true pump gas... you'll have serious issues. I hesitate to...

Are these heads any good a3b

Why would there be stamped/embossed ID on the combustion side of the head? If these are in fact A3 heads (A3 heads I'm thinking of)... I'd buy the off you:D

    3 angle valve job question

When done correctly, the 3 angles allow the air charge to flow through the bowl area, past the valve seat more efficiently. If you can afford the small price to have the valve seat blended into the bowl along with the valve angle... that is a serious "bang for your buck" mod. If your machine...

    Bushings

In my experience, there's no tool to push it out. I've only seen it removed one way, and it's the same way I do it... you must air chisel/punch it out. I imagine if you're trying to save it and only move it very little, you could use a bolt, nut w/washer and try drifting it a bit? Chances...

    rhs heads

Based on what? What cylinder head do you have now? What cylinder heads have you run? I'm asking what foundation your opinion has here. I own a set, and will go head to head against yours on a flow bench. Then we'll run them on a dyno. We'll consider +/- 3% difference a wash.

what exactly does the following mean? (flywheel question)

First, who/what's the manufacturer and part # of the crate engine? A zero balance rotating assembly is just that. No imbalance, so 28oz or 50oz will not work. In most cases a Windsor refers to 351, but that's just where I'm from and may not apply to how anyone else describes a SBF.

The RHS215s are worth it. The 200s you're talking about... iron? They are too heavy IMO.
