Although Toyota made some cheesy, thin frames and the salt just ate em in no time... Luckily they backed them up...

    Help with valve cover gasket!!!!

    Odds are you could throw it back on and it looks like it would still seal fine....i'd wash good all around a douche some RTV around it. Never used gasket sealer myself so no idea on that.

    Paint EGR???

    Get some anti-seize and wipe it in....it'll look mint and last for quite awhile. Any of that type of rusted chit looks brand new after a wipe down.

    Your call on that one...if its still hitting posi and noise free i'd just do the seal. You don't plan on opening the dif do you??? I thought you were just doing the seal. not sure your reading has anything to do with it being worn out. you just put that an Eaton posi unit in there didn't you???

    Id' say it is what it is.... take that reading and go from there. If you added a tad to it on re-assy no harm done...You just dont wanna go with to much drag. once you get near the end of the tightening keep checking for in/out play...then creep up some more and re-check. Once that in/out...

    Anytime Ive done a pinion seal the dif was out...hence my response... but that write-up would work just fine....take time & doublecheck yourself creeping up on the preload.....:nice:

    The preload needs to be done with the dif out....you need to get that preload with it turning freely....if the pinion gear is in the ring gear your reading is bogus as your turning the entire dif assy... How bad a leak is it???

    I used these guys... Photos Price was 200.00 for in/out plus 35.00 for shipping. Well worth the money as mine still look like the day I put em on. I couldn't find anyone even remotely close to do ceramic coating...most were down South....

    That would be the pinion seal most likely, its a seal right behind the yoke.... maybe it dried out some from not being used??? kinda odd as they usually never have a problem.

    Screw it...go back and complain...and ask them to empty the front sump...that'll pull about a quart out.
