    Engine Struggling with the rebuild

You can pull the starter and take it in to an auto parts store. They should be able to detect a bad starter with their equipment. Do you have good compression? If you pull the coil wire from the dist and hold it next to bare metal, what color is the spark? (careful with this one you can get...

    Engine Struggling with the rebuild

Even if timing was way off you'd be getting backfires through both intake and exhaust. Take a hard look at that starter, if it's the problem it will be due to internal resistance within the starter. Also, check #2 above from BuckeyeDemon - had that one happen too

    Engine Struggling with the rebuild

We had a similar issue when trying to start my mom's 331 after the build. We had spark, but it wasn't a strong blue/white spark it was orange-ish. We noticed the starter was laboring even though the battery was fresh and on a charger. We replaced the starter and it fired right up. The old...

1966 Mustang Welding. Which Welder Would You Recommend?

I agree, the gas makes a huge difference. With some practice you'll be able to lay down some pretty welds

1966 Mustang Welding. Which Welder Would You Recommend?

Lincoln or Miller 140. I have a Millermatic 211 and absolutely love it. Both brands are very good

    5.0 Fuel Injection

Aeromotive just started making a sweet tank/pump kit. I prefer in tank pump as it is quieter. http://blogs.mustangandfords.com/6761128/editorials/aeromotive-vintage-mustang-efi-fuel-systems/

    1965 Mustang rust repair

Coming along nicely. Have you noticed a difference in how the cars "sound" with all of the metal primed on both sides? What I mean is, I would expect a more 'solid' sound to the car and less chassis noise. Is that the case?

    Crooked Stripes

Clearly that amount of work and materials is worth more than 15K...however, none of that means anything if the final product isn't right. It's not Glenn's fault if the shop underquoted their work or did work for free. All of the free work in the world is worthless if the finished product...

    Tcp Rack Install Question

Quick update - got the rack installed in the car and it is in the alignment shop right now. The wheel wasn't all that hard to turn even in slow/tight parking. My 65 yr old mom was able to park it just fine. Steering was extremely precise! I'll give a full report tomorrow when it is out of...

    Crooked Stripes

Couldn't agree more, Glenn. I think you have a powerful position in that you can demand he fix it the way you want it fixed or you go to every car show with a big sign advertising his work! Very hard to believe a business owner wouldn't see the enormous damage to his reputation when people see...

    Crooked Stripes

I'd be skeptical about repainting only the stripes. I had my '68 painted in 2006, and by about 2008 you could clearly see where he had originally painted stripes and then repainted over them. There is a faint line that looks raised that runs parallel with the existing stripe but slightly...

    C4 Transmission Rebuild Questions

I'd recommend getting a video and manual from this outfit: http://www.technicalvideos.com/ You will want to mount the transmission vertically using an engine stand for the reassembly. Initially, to pull the pump, you can lay it on its pan or side.
