    T-5 conversion

From what I understand if you use the T-5 bellhousing headers become a customization or you have to stay with the stock manifolds. I used the stock II bell so I could stay with the un-modified headers, Hooker 6120's, which dropped in without any modifications. You get to pick one option...

    T-5 conversion

You'll probably have more surface area of the input shaft supported by the bushing than I do. Dave

    T-5 conversion

D&D transmission in Detroit told me the minimum the shaft should go into the crank was 1/2 inch. The roller bearing is designed to have the input shaft ride evenly on the bearings. In my case the rollers didn't even start until about 1/8 inch into the bearing/crank. Based on my measurements...

now what do I do with a king cobra???

You need to decide what you want to do to it. Do you like the King's stock? Do you want a show car only, car you can drive and show, or just drive around. Would you be happy with 139 HP, or have do you want MORE? The list goes on to stopping power, what kind of tires and wheels you like...

    Carlisle 2005...

Looks like I'm out. Health problem hasn't been solved by any of three physians and topping it my tires didn't come in. Didn't want to feel like crap sitting under the sun. Brian....did you pick up a II yet? Hope everyone has a good time and maybe next year. Dave

Rear leaf spring bushings and shackles?

Measure the outside diameter of your old bushings and ask for a set with the same diameter. I think I had to buy two sets and cut the length down to fit the II springs, but don't remember the model. I pressed them in with a 6 inch vice and silicon spray. Dave

Accel used to sell a blueprinted Duraspark, with adjustable vacuum advance. I picked mine up from Summit. Somewhere around $100.

    slip yoke travel

The rule of thumb is 1 inch out for the yoke. I'd ask the person who will doing the shortning and re-balancing how they prefer it measured. Or move the yoke out an inch and take the measurements and let the shop know how you measured it. Dave

who sells the cobra brake kits to go on mustang 2's

If you own a II you have to "think outside the box" to find parts that fit. Mustang II front suspension designs are used by the street rodders...hence there were probably brake upgrade kits available before most other models of cars. I bought my front kit in about 1992. The Mustang uses...

    Carlisle 2005...

I'm trying...subtle effort. With Phil and hopefully Terry being their, Steve and Mary, I'm hoping. John has to work the SVT trailor so his wife won't be coming. At this point all the pieces are in place, most importantly a "room". Your better half coming??? Dave

    t-5 swap

It's my understanding that if you use the T-5 bell and trans, the C-4 automatic drive shaft drops in and maybe the cross member, BUT you loose the bellhousing/driveshaft tunnel clearing complicating the header install. I don't know of a longer tail shaft. Dave

    t-5 swap

To use the stock bellhousing you should use the 94-95 T-5 with the longer input shaft, so it does reach into the crank. With this unit the shifter does fit into the interrior better but complicates the drive shaft and cross member fit. Someone had made a nice cross member but I haven't...

help on king cobra purchase (re-post)

The most expensive repairs will be the body. The places II's rust are the hatch, which is easily replacable, the rear quarters which you have, but what about the wheel wells? Rockers and door bottoms. Rust can be handled but if it has attacked the structure you could be looking at a lot of...

    All threads gone

I guess Stangnet doesn't know what it means to 'back up' their system. All threads since 1/3/05 and new registrations have been lost.

    Hooker Header ?

My 6120's fit without any modification. You have to disconnect the steering shaft on the drivers side and I think unbolt the motor mount and raise the engine, or was that the passenger side? Anyway best fitting header I've used! Passenger side is three pieces, first two tubes drop in from the...

    Hooker Header ?

I think you mean the Hooker 6120's? The Hedmans have one tube that is routed UNDER the crossmember. Dave

    Granada Rotor Issue

Mine bolted right up with no clearance problems. I replaced all the suspension components at the time. Personally I would be nervious spacing the rotor out with a machine washer, but then again I could just be paranoid too. Dave

    Holley 600 on a 77 302

How old is your accelerator pump? The diaphram could be cracked and not getting a full shot through the carb. For that matter how clean is the carb? The passages for the accelerator pump could also be blocked. Is the pump adjusted correctly. All the slack taken out of the pump action...
