which cobra should I get 94-95 or 96-98

That's about as good an answer as you'll get. The 94-95 are no slouches even stock (mid 14s), but the DOHC Cobras are faster out of the box. While I really like the idea of getting a 93, you do miss out on the SN-95's stiffer platform and the larger Cobra brakes that weren't installed on...

    Why no grill???

The last grille (honeycomb-style) in a Cobra was in 1996, which was removed to reportedly help cooling problems. IMO, I like the bare look myself. One thing that most cars today don't need is more cheap-looking plastic stuck here and there. If you look at the old Shelbys, a lot of them have...

    2002 cobra vs a 2003

The 2002 Cobras are right-hand drive and have an extra set of fog lights. I'm just kidding a bit. The only 02 Cobras are Australian. The 01s are the last year for true SVT Cobras sold in America with the naturally aspirated 4.6 all-aluminum DOHC V8. The other differences are: 2003+ -...

    would a 01 cobra supercharged beat a 03 cobra?

If you just theoretically suppose that a supercharged 01 and a factory blown 03 were making the same horsepower and torque, then the 01 would have the advantage in curb weight. I also think that the 01 might have a slightly better initial torque multiplication from the gearing, but of course...

    Trading cars

Like its been said, if you're familiar with a stick, then its no big deal, especially on a 96-01 Cobra. If you're concerned, I'd definitely aim for a 99 or 01 just because of the traction control, but even its hardly not even needed unless you're on wet pavement. On dry pavement, a stock...

    stock turbine wheels

Tried full strength Simple Green? You wouldn't think that stuff would work a lot of times, but it does do wonders on certain things.

'03-04 Cobra owners ... like your seats ??

Its amazing that there is such a difference of opinions about the 03+ seats. Now, I don't have a 03/04, but my 01 has similiar seats and I love mine and I'm 6' and 200+ lbs. and I've loved them from the moment I dropped myself down in the driver seat on my test drive and they are good for a 200...

    Common problems with '01 Cobras

The main few I've heard are are sporadic. A few engines tend to have very light pinging under the right circumstance and (unfortunately in my case) I know that is really hot weather under heavier acceleration. Mine does tend to ping slightly when the thermometer reaches up over 90...

    1995 cobra sig?

I'm pretty sure they were not signed. I had a 95 and do not recall ever seeing a signature plate. Furthermore, the niche line wasn't started until the Cobra engines were being built at the Romeo plant and the 5.0 Cobra engines were not hand-built. They did, however, have some sort of decal or...

Is your Cobra your daily driver? Could it be?

No, mine isn't a daily driver. It gets driven about twice a week right now and the miles on the odometer is not even 13,000 miles. I'm sure it could probably do the job of daily driver, but actually I seem to appreciate it more when I drive it only occasionally.

New 04 Lightning popping noise in the front end making tight turns?

That sounds sort of like ball joints.

    95 or 96 Cobra, pros / cons?

Comparing a 5.0 to the 4.6 DOHC is a bit hard to do. The 95 if well driven can be torquey enough to feel stronger in the low-mid range, but the top end of the DOHC comes on strong and just keeps going where the 5.0 runs out of breath...stock for stock, mod for mod of course. I used to have a...

    03/04 Cobra Steering?

I can't speak for the 03/04 guys, but the IRS Cobras do have a different feel and response in handling. The Cobra has what feels like a sharper turn-in with more feel for what the suspension is doing. I'm not sure about the ratio though.

anybody try Meguiar's nxt Tech Wax?

Just tried NANOWAX from Eagle One and its good stuff too. They also supply a microfiber towel for removal and right now they have a $9.99 mail-in rebate just for trying it. I haven't tried NXT yet, but this stuff is also extremely easy going on, coming off and leaves a deep shine.

Is it really bad to go over you due date for oil changes

I'd say that in all likelihood if the oil still looks clean, then its probably all right however I'm no chemist and have no way of saying other than by looks alone whether or not there is any breakdown in the viscosity of the oil. That said, anybody still on a factory warranty (or an extended...

Is it really bad to go over you due date for oil changes

I usually shoot for about 4000 miles intervals. I think Ford doesn't really stipulate a time frame, just mileage...at least that how they used to be. Now Chrysler, they have both a mileage and/or time frame. On my Ram, the book says 6k/6 months on a "Schedule A", which is IMO how I drive...

Which subframe connectors for 01 Cobra??

Is there somebody that sells those locally in the Triangle area, BlackSnake and who installs them? I'm kind of interested in buying some of the weld in kind (naturally) to add rigidity to my car.

I've always heard Dawn was the best at stripping wax. Also, I've heard that Simple Green would too.

    simple SVT engine question

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe I remember that the Romeo plant's niche line for the 4.6 DOHC hand-built engines consisted of (12) 2 man teams. I may be wrong.

Bullitt 2001 Bullitt or 1996 SVT Cobra

Sounds like a great car. The laser red is a beautiful color, particularly on that bodystyle. While, I like the Bullitts and afterall this is a Bullitt forum, I think you probably made the right choice in this case and I'll say welcome to the SVT family! You'll certainly enjoy that Cobra and...
