    New rear end gears whine loud when I let off

    It will do that if your backlash isn't set correct. Did you get a dial indicator to check the backlash? Ford specs call for .008 to .015. I set mine at .014 and I have no noise at all.

    I would just take it to an sct tuner like Tim Barth or Ed Clark and have them work their magic on it. Sucks to pay an extra $300-$500, but for peace of mind and knowing it would be done right, I don't think you could go wrong with that.

    In regards to messing up the alignment of the rear end by jacking it up on the diff housing, if you have done that for awhile and actually mess up that alignment, is it possible to take it somewhere to fix it?

    A spool isn't very streetable so if you are using this as a daily driver then go with and Eaton posi or an Auburn.

    Lets talk about my rear end :)

    The cheapest that I've found for axles and a new Eaton diff was at MPH. You need to have new ABS rings pressed on to your axles...you can reuse your old ones but I was afraid of breaking mine so I just bought new ones. Of course if you change the carrier then you need to have the bearing pressed...
