    Let's talk Quad Shocks

If you can afford an aluminum driveshaft, throw one in. It's nice to have even if there's nothing wrong with your original one. Your DS might have thrown a weight, which can be checked for because there will be a mark on the DS ends where the weight used to be. It may also need U...

White smoke from tailpipes/ Please help/Running out of ideas

Do a pressure test on your coolant system too. That much smoke being white, you've got water. So much so that it's preventing ignition in one or more cylinders, so therefore you're smelling raw gas too.

    Engine Build Question

When you're in doubt, it's a good idea to replace that part that you're not sure you can re-use. If you still want to persue the idea of re-using them, I would run this question by your machinist.

    Who knows about rod/piston/crank specs?

I would go with option #2 if your block doesn't need to be decked. You can definitely run .005 out of the hole. As you learned, you're headgasket thickness can be used to get you in that sweet quench spot. I like this better, because if heaven forbid something doesn't work out, you havn't...

    90 Mustang 3-2 port p/v conversion questions

Only if you use a single chamber MC. If you use an older style dual chamber MC, the front and rear brakes are isolated by the MC. :nice:

    Let's talk Quad Shocks

If quads are cutting out wobble in the rear, it's a band-aid to the real problem. Something is out of balance, that is the only thing that is going to cause a wobble when the car is up on a lift. If it's not your wheels and tires, have your driveshaft checked next.

    Who knows about rod/piston/crank specs?

Those 6.2 rods can be used for a 383 or a 408. With the 383 you need a 3.75 crank, and some 1.4 or 1.405 (.005 in the hole or flush) compression height pistons, but I don't easily see that piston for a Ford on someone's shelf. With the 408 you use a 4.00 crank, your 6.2 rods, and some...

    installed new TB

Thing is, you can't really open up the upper intake after the EGR spacer without extrude honing. Ultimately you're right back down to the same diameter intake as the stock TB and EGR spacer. So like you said before, it's still going to squeeze through the same size hole. Loudexhaust, just...

    installed new TB

Yes you can, but then you'll notice that the inlet of the upper intake manifold is the same size as your current egr spacer.

    Baro sensor questions

Nobody knows? Measuring the volts at pin C and D of the plug with the MAF disconnected, key on, engine off, would be the same thing. Could someone check theirs for me and let me know what they're reading?

What about the internal diameter of the upper intake behind the EGR spacer?

Can hydroboost be used on a 5.0 engine?

Oh that part is easy. The hydroboost has a high pressure in, a high pressure out, and a return. The high pressure in comes from the pump. High pressure out goes to your rack. I still say the stock 5.0 pump is up to the task, IMO. I think the hard part is going to be finding lines...

Can hydroboost be used on a 5.0 engine?

Interesting. When you do a parts search for a 99 v6, you're asked if it has hydroboost or not. But checking the junkyards, I can't find a single hydroboost unit on a v6 car. So it would seem you're correct. So with that information, can you use a 96+ v8 P/S pump on a 5.0?

    Who knows about rod/piston/crank specs?

If your stock length Eagle rods are stock 351W length, I am absolutely positive. But don't just take my word for it :nice: Strokers Wild: Part 4 If you're going to piece it together, you'll want to remember to get it balanced :nice:

Can hydroboost be used on a 5.0 engine?

Can you elaborate a little bit more? I take it your talking about the 4 bolts that mount the booster to the pedal assembly while sandwiching the firewall. If the bolts don't line up that's easy enough to fix. But when you say a hydroboost pedal setup, is there more to be concerned with...

    car is running lean...

Well you automatically go in to open loop beyond a certain throttle position. If you're doing any real accelerating you're not in closed loop. So again, the computer is responding based on it's programming. It's not doing any fuel trim. I guess using the word cruising was a bad choice...

    Who knows about rod/piston/crank specs?

Dude, I just checked Summit, because well, you gave me an excuse. They have 3.850 throw Eagle cast steel crankshafts for $300 bucks. 8 hyper cast 302 pistons with rings 30 over is $175. Forged will run you $310 You can get individual pistons as cheap as $17 a piece. Or there's...
