    1st Dyno & 1/4 mile run

Well I said I'd do it, and I did.. the results were about what I expected, considering my car is an automatic with no mods besides Flowmasters, cold air intake, and throttle body spacer. Here's the short version of the dyno and 1/4 mile: peak HP=129 peak torque=190 1/4=16.8@83mph :lol...

    more power for less

True dual exhaust would make it sound better, slight increase in power & fuel economy. My car now idles at about 800 rpm since I got the Flowmaster/intake/throttle body spacer added all at once. It gets about 1-2 mpg better than before, as long as I'm not redlining it from stoplight to stoplight.

A New Way To Make A V6 To V8 Engine Swap

I'm not too keen on scrounging around junkyards looking for used parts that you don't know for sure if they are any good until you install and try them. Yes, you can save a lot of money, but the opposite could also happen. I bought used wheels for my car, but that's another story. All the other...

A New Way To Make A V6 To V8 Engine Swap

That's the way to go, with the for sale sign.. as for me, I'm hanging on to my V6 for a while. Mine is over 115,000 miles, but it has not had a single problem. No leaks, no squeaks, no nothing. Funny how 2 cars from the same plant can behave so differently.. Maybe when the '09 Mustang...

A New Way To Make A V6 To V8 Engine Swap

This has been a long time dream of mine, to swap a crate Mach I engine from the Ford catalog into my car, but then I learned what it would really take. Engine, $6500. New transmission, at least 2 grand. New 8.8 rear end, $500? or more.. new suspension...$?? New brakes, at least $1000.. new...

    thinking about getting a 01 V6 5spd

I'll agree that the newer 05+ Mustangs are getting fat & heavy, but the older ones aren't too bad. What's your 1/4 mile time in the nissan? With a 99-04 GT, and a few thousand $ in mods, you're easily well into the 12's.

    thinking about getting a 01 V6 5spd

If you already have a fast car, and you know a Mustang GT isn't fast enough, does it matter how fast a V6 is? It's slower than a GT, for sure. I'd go with the GT. Drop a few mods on it and you'll probably be able to outrun that nissan you have. If you plan on modifying your Mustang, even light...

    Super Six power packs

This is exactly what I was thinking, but needed someone knowledgable to confirm for me. My plan is, since my engine is now over 115,000 miles, when it starts to crap out on me, to swap in a 99-04 engine from Ford, or at least have mine rebuilt picking up the 99-04 upgrades that increased the...

    3.8 exhaust. Help!

California Mustang has a dual exhaust setup in their catalog, including true dual. I think that besides the wheels, getting dual exhaust was the best thing I did to my car. There's not a huge power gain, but the sound with Flowmasters is nice! Almost like a V8, but quieter.

    Super Six power packs

No, I can't do it myself, I'd have a shop do it for me. I don't have the knowledge or tools. (well, I have a leatherman, and a hammer..) I'd have them send the parts out to me and let a shop do it. The shop I talked to on friday told me, as everyone else does, that to swap in a V8 and keep it...

    Super Six power packs

Has anyone used the power packages sold by Super Six Motorsports? I have seen them online and wonder if they work very well. They have one for the 94-98 Mustang 3.8, for $1725, supposed to add 75HP?? So far I have not found anyone who has had one installed. I am real careful about what I do to...

Why can't car companies NAME their cars?

I think the Five Hundred name was both forgettable, and misleading.. Five Hundred what? Horsepower? Cubic inches? Seconds in the quarter mile? It's a good move to bring the Taurus name back, but.. if I needed a second non-Mustang car, I'd be looking at the Fusion. :nice:

    Ford Motor Company Question

I'm sure 99.9% of you already know this, but the first Ford Probe was going to be the next Mustang in the 1980's. Some of the engineering test mule Probes had Mustang badges on them. It was a Mazda design through and through. How does a front wheel drive, 4-banger, Japanese engineered Mustang...

    A few questions.....

So I've heard. 4-banger Mustangs can be modded too; with enough money thrown at them they can smoke a Terminator. Anything can be modded with enough money. Put it this way, you can "mod" a guy to look just like a woman, "IT" may even make it into playboy if you spend enough money on the mods...

    A few questions.....

If you get a 5 speed GT and baby it most of the time while driving, your MPG will be only 1 or 2 lower than with a V6. If you're a stoplight warrior, redlining it 20 times per day, then yes there will be a much bigger difference. Everyone gets on it hard now and then... even those of us with 150...

    Terminator vs. LS2 GTO

yeah but what's strange is a lot of guys will yank out the IRS on their Terminator Cobras and replace it with solid axles.. I have seen articles in 5.0 Mustang magazine on how to do just that. I guess it's better for highly modified, high power drag racers with a solid axle. So, I'll let you off...

Terminator Cobras had IRS too...but we all knew that, right??:nice:

    Chrome wheel question

I have a question about chrome wheels.. my car has the 5-star 16 inch "waffle wheels" that were standard from 94-98, and I really like them. I have seen them in chrome before, and   they look awesome in chrome. My wheels are in decent shape; no gouges or dents or anything, so...

    New Rims for my 'Stang

Well, the 5-spoke Cobra wheels will leave more room to see the performance brakes you will no doubt want to get one day.
