Hi. About to be new 76 owner. Many Questions

 And God knows I hope I don't need to find out about replacement fenders. :rlaugh: For the last couple of decades or longer. Both. The 'frame' itself is spot welded. The radius arm and forward rear cross member bracket are bolted to the spot welded frame. Far as I...

    A few more questions

Not surprising since a strong case can be made for Gahl building his site by the theft of others intellectual properties. And the attitude displayed when questioned about the above would lead me to believe northing has changed. :rlaugh: Search the forums, several threads on the cross...

THats about right. I've measured from the seals wear on the yoke to the yokes shoulder and have come up with ~ 1", or was it 3/4 inches ... If I remember I'll find the V-6's yoke and measure it. One of the truths of trans yoke "distancing" is its immeasurably better to have WAY...

    are all 302's created equal?

221 and 260 were 5 bolt. Early 289s were 5 bolt, 5 bolt production stopped in 64 which means there could be a few 5 bolt in 65 models and/ or a few 6 bolt installed in late 64. :rlaugh:

HDR Images: Learn and share your work...

Yeah, but people needed to know there was / is an alternative to getting a new camera body that 'auto brackets'. About the camera moving while on a tripod, well, first you need a tactile sense and not be ham fisted. Second, you buy junk you get junk, Sort Of. I suggest getting a good...

HDR Images: Learn and share your work...

Just about all cameras can bracket. You don't have to have a camera do it for you. Set up on a tripod, manually change exposures. This is far superior to hand holding the camera even if the camera can take 5+ FPS because the camera WILL move. Yeah, HDR is almost a necessity because of...

Odometer works but speedometer doesn't? Far as the rest of the cluster, probably wiring. The cluster could have been removed but not plugged back in, or the plug could have worked loose, or the grounds could be faulty, ... In my experience I have never had the entire electricals on...

    75 help

80K miles is just about the right time for the belt to jump or break. As time passes people tend to forget how things WERE and start thinking how things are now is as they have always been. Back in The Day when a 2.3 reached 60k miles it was time to change the belt. The farther past 60k...

    76 cabra 2 need help

The 'sides' of the car are determined from sitting in the operators seat. Just so you know. Take a tape measure/ruler and measure from the frames to the dampener. The engine should be ~ 1 1/8 inches closer to the right frame than the left. If the trans mount were far off enough to make the...

    75 help

And IIRC the 2.3 isn't a 'run free' motor, drop the timing belt and crash the valves. Come to think .... if the belt failed and was replaced 25 years ago that would be a good reason the car sat for 1/4 of a century. Before I went any farther with this engine I would check the cam timing...

1976 mustang cobra 2 heater core

I've worked with only AC boxes. It sucks. The dash can be loosened and pried far enough to get clearance for box removal, BUT I'm not sure how much I would want to pry on a 30+year old piece of plastic that's almost irreplaceable. Thus I would remove the dash. And having to remove the AC...

    Subframe connector question

And I'm pretty sure "the simpler method" is at the very least partially responsible for the 'issues' we regularly read about with this swap. And I wouldn't be the least surprised or shocked to someday read or learn those using "the simpler method" had their shifters fall through the floor.
