so my morning consisted of a bunch of crap. was driving to work get on the free way got into 3rd at 3200rpm i threw one of the v belts on the freeway so i got of the next exit and checked saw the bearings in the pump blew apart and the pump just started eating itself. the pulley had some much...
hmmmm flywheel what did it look like? change the solenoid cheap 15-20 bucks they start sticking first and usually best to replace when you replace the starter just to kill 2 birds with one stone....
okay first off. dont drive it for now.
there is an oil pickup screen on the bottom of the oil pump, this WILL get clogged with higher mileage motors. CLEAN IT. I've never had to do this myself but i'm sure there is enough people on here that have and could tell you more direct instructions on...
what kind of clamp are you using and what kind of tubing...
t-bolt clamps are good if its stainless pipe if its not you might crush it. just an idea... the 90 degree elbow could also be causing the problem too. airflow does some wierd things when its routed in a 90 degree if you can soften the...
people wave to me and i always feel obligated of letting them hear the turbo. theres a lot of fox bodies in my area, so unless they know what the svo means they assume itsa 5.0 until they hear otherwise
i'm not sure that was a good idea.... an impact gun should brake it loose. reset the timming (crank and cam, cause it more then likley jumped timming) and hope you didnt harm the top end, how high did it rev
for the svo where would be a good place to get a pair. reasonably priced that is.... anyone have the part number for rear brake rotors for the rear for the mark vii. would this be possible to do for under 300 bucks:shrug:
you know i read that response and cant help but notice a sense of defensiveness. he made a couple of good points but i'd still hold it to a grain of salt. he may make statments like that but he seems to sure of himself... however he could be right so who knows just keep emailing them to run 2.3t...
racer walsh, motiondynamics.net (i think thats it google it), forced4, there are a lot of them dirt track guys use little 2.3s for dirt track racing i'm sure if you looked around on the web you'd find one at a resonable price
you want the fenders cause they are getting tosses soon pm and let me know... i thought it was a little more dammange then that. but its good info to keep in mind, the rear end of the car body wise is all replacable in good quantity, however gaurd the front of the car with you life... or spend...
how bad did it miss? i'd start with a good tune up with motorcraft parts, plugs, dist cap and rotor. Check the timming and egr valve. CA smog in the bay area sucks. mine failed the other day on HC's (cat is probably shot)...
really its not that hard. i think its 10 bolts each side that you have to undue to replace the fronts. the drums are a little more difficult. heres an idea, if you have a digital camer take a picture of it before it comes off paying attention to bolts and spring (for the rear) its really easy to...
"Damn, $800? I have at least $3K more than that in my heap."
no no no now i have at least 5k into it now with the motor and repairing crash parts.... but 800 was a good starting point, best damn car i've ever bought for 800. cool thing is it was the first car i ever bought and still...
I have all of you beat on the cheapiest SVO 800 bucks with a broken timming belt. At the time I bought it clean body no dammage ( little old lady was the original owner that i bought i from ), but however now the body looks like crap at the moment....
