    I got mine at CJPony parts. I think they were on sale. They are not exactly the same as stock, no plastic on the receiving side, and shorter, but I'm not sure anyone would notice.

    It sure sounds like it failed a visual inspection. That's a shame, if it passed the sniff test but failed the visual. I pass with long tubes, 2 cats, dumped mufflers, and no tuning tricks at all!

    If you do go with a non SFI set up, be aware you will not pass tech if you do ever go to a race track. You could get a bolt in roll bar and non SFI harnesses, but that seems like a headache for what sounds like only being done for looks?

    Another thing... That is an 85 mph speedo, which would mean an LX car correct? I see what appears to be the fog light switch which would indicate a GT. Unless they made GTs with 85 mph speedos? :D

    The issue is most people want to simply bolt on the power, and E7s require work to get there. A GT40 head with the same work done should make more power, so that 200-400 extra dollars, means more power (assuming you work the E7 and GT40 the same after). An aluminum head with the same good parts...

    Not sure on the combo for the OP, but your not just going to slap an E7 combo together and made 330+ rwhp. There's a lot of good quality parts, set up right to do it. A typical out if the box HCI combo would take some tweaking to put down that kind of power. 110 mph is moving nicely...

    I will admit, as much as they suck, it feels good beating up on some cars with bug aluminum heads, and when they ask what you have, you can tell them stock heads (and stock cam). :D

    Just replaced mine as well. They should lock up without having to really pull on them hard.

    You should be ok with 19 lb injectors. I'm not sure if an E or TFS stage 1 would've a better choice, but the stock can would work well with the combo as well. HP, 250-260 rwhp would be my guess.

    Much better looking with a clean and the ponys. I daily drove a 4cyl car for a couple years, although a 5-speed. It got the job done, but man oh man are they slow! Was the driver side carpet actually cut out?

    Progress Thread Trim Blackout

    Careful with the windshield molding, it's fragile and takes the right angle to pry it off. SEM trim black looks very nice in my opinion.
