    Running Hot

It may be contributing, but at speed, it should be getting plenty of air. Any evidence to suggest a lean condition?

1993 cobra MAF housing and stock 5.0 electronics ??

After further review. I stand corrected. 19#MAF cal. Unique Cobra computer calibration. I was not aware of that... :) I wonder why Ford did that? They had to make a special computer calibration just so they can deal with a mismatched injector-MAF combo...seems a little silly. Why didn't...

1993 cobra MAF housing and stock 5.0 electronics ??

The '93 Cobra came stock with 24# injectors, a 70mm MAF (calibrated for 24# injectors), and a different computer calibration. You can order this conversion right out of the FMS catalog. X3Z Computer, MAF, & 24lb/Hr Injectors Part #M-9000-C52 ss93cobra...You are correct, it will run...

SOHC 5.0 in 1989 town car?

Yes they can, but they didn't come that way from the factory in '89...which I believe, was the question.

It's emissions testing time. Will turning my timing way down help me pass?

You have a TwEECer? What about wide band O2? Talk to a professional tuner and see what they recommend in terms of adjusting your air/fuel ratio to minimize emissions...at least for the test. If you're going to remove the blower belt, you will have to retune it anyhow, so why remove it...

SOHC 5.0 in 1989 town car?

Someone check me on this, but the Ford "modulars" were the only OHC engines put in the Lincolns...and after '89...first put them in the LSC sport coupe. The '89 Town Car used a 5.0L non-HO engine, much like the Crown Vics, Grand Marquis, etc.

Its Running Rich Bad! Advise Please

It could be a MAF or O2 sensor issue. However, could also be a ECT, ACT, and/or MAP voltage issue. That said, if something is really out of spec, a code should have been thrown. Since you ran the codes and nothing popped up...no codes at all...like a open ground issue...or it performed the...

rear gear ratio? what would you do?

There are a few things to consider... 1. If you are going to run in a particular class, what are your competitors trapping at? 2. Examine the powerband of the engine if you have a recent dyno sheet. From that, where do you want your RPM at the far end of the track? 3. What size tire...

1993 cobra MAF housing and stock 5.0 electronics ??

Call up Pro-M and talk to a professional. It's also my understanding that changing the bore of your MAF and leaving your electronics will affect the voltages. Someone check me on this, but from what I understand, the ratio of air moving through the housing bore to air moving across the sensor...

    Batt ground relocate

You can run it to the head, assuming your engine grounds are good. Better would be a dedicated copper line to your negative battery post or the 2ga line that runs to your battery post.

Sluggish past 4500rpm - 93 LX need help

Well, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say take it to your local Ford dealership where they actually have the equipment to diagnose the problem. They will have oscilloscopes, breakout boxes, so on and so forth. They don't have to fix it...you can do that if you choose. However, it may...

    Overheating WTF

In addition to the more common trapped air theory and sticky thermostat.... 1. Radiator cap not holding pressure 2. Radiator in poor condition 3. Coolant pump rotating too slowly (underdrives) 4. Coolant pump in poor condtion 5. Air/fuel ratio too lean 6. Radiator not recieving...

1993 cobra MAF housing and stock 5.0 electronics ??

Pro-M offers OEM MAF housings calibrated to whatever injector size you want. Not only that, they can take your stock 70mm Cobra MAF and recalibrate it for you. If you change injector size and have your MAF calibrated for the injectors, you still have to recalibrate the computer. The car...

How much to lower car? 1 inch or 2 inches

There are different ways to lower the ride height on a Mustang. The issue at hand is trying to maintain proper front suspension geometry so it doesn't handle poorly. There are a few companies (Raceware Spindles www.racewarecentral.com ) that offer dropped spindles that allow for you to use...

Steeda offers a lightweight "drag race" front swaybar. I have no idea how adjustable it is, though.

Its Running Rich Bad! Advise Please

    1. Pull the codes. 2. Remove the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator. If it is wet with gas, you may have a leaky diaphragm and it's spitting fuel into your upper intake. There is little reason to run "race" gas unless you've got a high compression engine or are running a ton of...

what foot print can fit on a pony?

With respect to any of the responses you might recieve...Unless you are in it for the "look" of wide tires, the testing suggests that wider is not always better, in terms of performance. The tire compound, itself, is more of a factor in regards to traction...then your suspension geometry. The...

How bad would AFR 165's hurt me?

I'd probably call the AFR tech line. They will have the flow numbers for the two heads, as well as, information about different combos. From what I understand, the exhaust valve is the same between the 165 and 185, so there may be some evidence to suggest that the 205's might be a better...

What else can cause rotors to keep warping??

In addition to the above. Braking habits also contribute to this. For example, if you're one to run on the highway, hit the offramp, hit the brakes...heat them up real good, then come to a stop and hold the pads tight against the rotor for a time...like at a stoplight. This scenario, and...
