    I would use the original wiring and the relay. Just cut the tan/light green wire going to the computer ground, and splice in your toggle switch. This will switch the control side of the fuel pump relay. Also make sure the red wire going to the inertia switch is fused constant 12V.

    Are you certain that you are on a compression stroke on the #1 cylinder. The passenger side front cylinder is #1.

    I would not bypass the safety switch. I have heard too many stories, its dangerous. Replace the switch.

    I think its a good deal as long as the motor does not knock or make any bad noises and the tranny shifts and sounds fine. I wouldn't necessarily think it needs a valve job at only 165K. It would have to be something else. Converting to mass air is only needed if you plan on modifying the engine...

    Yes, the rotor has to be pointing at the #1 position on the cap at tdc on compression stroke.

    Check the voltage at the battery. 12V while car is off, and 13-14V while its running. They might of reversed polarity, overcharged, wrong voltage, etc.
