    Which distributor gear?

I am one that remains in the bronze camp after having two failures that involved cam damage and metal shaving inside engine. Bronze require more maintenance (visual checks) but offer me a certain level of security. Happy Motoring! HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

    ROLLER ROCKER RECOMMENDATIONS

"D", how in the world are you able to do that much driving and monitor Stagnet and put up over 7000 posts? You got one of them direct satellite up links and throw up tech while you are shifting gears? HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

    Roller spring perches...

Believe it or not it is usually not that much of a problem at the track as the surface is usually fairly smooth without bumps (unless you visit Sebring). In addition when the early model is set up "loose" (rear wants to come around) you tend to do a lot of steering with the rear of the car...

    Uni-body twist versus HP

When you crack some glass you got too much twist. This usually only happens in road racing or heavy drag racing. Up to that point do not be too concerned unless you simply want a cage or sub-frames. HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

    ROLLER ROCKER RECOMMENDATIONS

When I converted my street car to a track car the 3/8" studs were bent and this was with a .480 lift. IMHO the other add-on stuff is not necessary for a street car but it does look cool and makes for great conversation. Believe it or not the race car does not have stud girdles using a .525...

Have used Harland Sharp for years with no issues at the track. Pay a few extra bucks! http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+400203+4294908331+4294840126+4294889096+4294839887+115+300684&autoview=sku HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

5-speed transmission that fits an early mustang perfectly?

The regular 5-speed will work just fine unless you drag race each and every weekend. HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

5-speed transmission that fits an early mustang perfectly?

No, have not. You should be able to go from a top-loader to 5-speed with very few issues. The drive shaft swaps so a cross member and bell housing adapter plate should get you up and running. HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

    Lowered car pinion angle

Just had a thread on pinion angles. You might do a search. ( Hint: the new angle will be OK) If the driveshaft was OK before it will be OK now provided it was marked before removing to put back in same position. HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

    Clutch equalizer bar with headers

Modern day clutches play havoc on an original early model Z-bar. My suggestion would be to have some gussets added to the bar. This is what I did after missing a race because of a bent Z-bar. Even the original HP type Z-bar might bend with today's improved clutches. HistoricMustang...

    where to put them?..

Believe it or not sometimes the cross member is removed by a previous owner and not replaced. It could be missing! Ouch! HistoricMustang www.historicmustang.com

    1" or 1 1/8" sway bar?

Thanks, but I want to keep this car original. The only thing really modified from original are the fender lips. They are rolled. We actually use the bias plys to help tune the front end plus the stiffer side walls help prevent front end roll over. Radials simply do not work at speed...

    1" or 1 1/8" sway bar?

Thanks for the input. I believe going fast in these things is a matter of driver set up preference. I simply drive a loose car better than a tight car. Have tried a rear sway bar and it simply does not work for my style of driving. HistoricMustang
