    Don't ever sell your Fox

Bought my 87 notch new in October 1986. Has been in my garage for over 20 years (the longer I have it the more I love it) and its not going anywhere in the foreseeable future.

How many classic owners have a newer stang?

I have a 65 K-code coupe that I have had since 1996 and an 87 LX 5.0 notch that I bought new in 1986. I have put about 8k into the 65 and 5k into the 87 which has been pretty painless when done over such a long time period. To me, the key to keeping the expenditure down is to buy a good car from...

    USA66 Radio Opinions

Just installed one of these in my 65 coupe last week. The radio fits well and the install was easy and straight foward. The sound is decent for what it is (I have two 6x9's in the rear and a 2 channel dash speaker) It has manual tuning, the push buttons actually control the functions for the CD...

    289 hi po motor

If it still has the original Autolite carb it be a 600 CFM unit with a 1.12" primary venturi and will have a manual choke setup on it. If the tag is on it ithe number will be either a C50F-L or a C50F-J. If the fan is there, it will be a 4 bladed unit with a stamped steel center and aluminum...

ALT light stays on 65 coupe.

How old is the (assuming you still have the mechanical) regulator? I had a new one go bad in under 2 months last year. Also check the alternator harness - my original one had a bad wire that was virtually undetectable. They are relitively cheap to replace (under $25) if there are any doubts

    can I wax my wheels?

I've used American Racing's wheel wax for around three years now and it works well and does a very good job of helping tp repel brake dust - makes wheel cleanup is pretty easy

    Owning a Dog!?!

Don't forget the annual cost of ownership - food, toys, snacks, regular meds such as heartguard and frontline and typical yearly vet bills. Annual average vet bills for my wheaton terrier over the last 5 years have been around $400+ per year.

    winterizing my Stang

Change the oil and filter, remove the battery and store it properly, fill the tank and add stabilizer, add 6 or 7 lbs of air to the tires, put a couple of bars of irish spring under the front seats, cover it and let it rest until April. This will be the 20th year I have done this with the LX and...

stang66convt is correct - the hipo manifolds do require a different H pipe

    Old Smell

I would also just replace the carpet, its not expensive and is easy to do. Did this in a 66 which sat unused for many years and afterwards, most of the "barn smell" was gone - new carpet looked great too.

    Modern cars as classics?

Zookeeper - Don't sell your T-Top 88GT short. Assuming your car is clean and in very good overall condition (which I'm sure it is) around this part of the country, your car would likely bring between 5 to 8k without much of a problem. Clean, original non or lightly modded 5.0's are now going up...

QUICK! help me identify if this is a 65 K code fastback

Another long time K-code owner here. Appears to be many non-K components in the photos. Task one is to check the vin on the fender for the K in the VIN and take it from there.

My dad lost the battle, but wanted to thank...

My dad passed back in 1994. One of the great memories I have of him is a photo of him at a car show sitting behing the wheel of my 87 LX with a big smile on his face. Hangs on my living room wall and makes me and a lot of other people smile everytime they see it. Celebrate you dads life and...

    Whats my engine worth?

A true good running K-Code motor 100% complete (correct carb, heads, cam, balancer, exhaust manfolds, distributor, correct date codes etc.) is worth somewhere between 5 to 8K. Most, but not all, have the cars VIN stamped on the front side of the block, just above the oil pan on the passenger side.

    Exhaust size

The only mod to my car is a pertronix igniter in place of the dual points- everything else is original (except the flowmasters of course!)
