    Winterize My 67 Stang

Here is what I have done for short term storing over the last 18 years to my cars and have never had a problem. Fill the fuel tank and add stabilizer. Check you antifreeze's freeze range, don't assume is OK, especially where you live. If it has not been changed in a while, change it. I do remove...

Looking to buy a 1966 GT350 or nice vert 66 K code, where to find?

    Another Wheel Question

I am seriously considering putting a set of TT2's on my 65 coupe - yeah I know everyone has them but I still love em. I currently have a set of stock sized Styled Steels (14 x 5's) and redlines which I will swap back on for shows - the TT2's would be for fun driving and crusing. I would like to...

Where can i find 2.73 gears

With all of the gear swaps that are done out there, there has to be a lot of 2.73 ring and pinions sitting in boxes avaliable for probably next to nothing - tried looking in the parts for sale section?

Anyone seen any undercover cars lately?

Here in good ol' Connecticut Intrepids and Impalas of various colors abound, along with Expeditions (usually silver or blue).

    Considering purchase - advice needed

Ah, the poor disrespected coupe. Most of the what to look for items have already been well stated here and probably the only other thing I would add is to do the magnet test on the body, to make sure that a highly skilled bondo "sculptor" did not have a hand in the cars restoration. As far as an...

    HI-Po means what?

A few other small things unique to this car were a larger diameter "underdrive" pulley on the alternator and a steel hub/4 blade aluminum fan. The early HiPo's (65/66) were the only Mustangs of this vintage that used a factory installed 9" rear.

Ford GT40 Package add up to 305hp?

Am I the only one here who thinks a 110 mph street race in a 40 mph zone is probably not the best idea? Just curious.

Another whats it worth thread (am I crazy??)

Your Grande sounds like a real nice car, but at least around here the coupes are not the easiest cars to get top dollar for - you will definitely have to find the right buyer. Ever think about keeping the 69, selling the GT, paying it off and driving somthing a bit more inexpensive to get you...

    Tracing Car History

While nothing is impossible, trying to trace the complete owner history of a 40 yr old car that has likely seen multiple owners and has migrated out of the United States will probably be very difficult, especially if you did not get a good paperwork trail with the car when you bought it. As for...

    Rally Pack repair?

Had Gary at H+H auto do a complete restore of my 65 Rally Pac two years ago. He repaired the tach (worked only when it felt like it) did a quartz conversion on the clock, repaired the harness and painted the housing for around $400 complete. He does really nice work but be prepared to wait for a...

    Spring Round-Up-- Who's going?

This is not the first time I have heard of this. There a few shows I have been to here in Conn. that also require that an extinguisher be displayed along side you car. Not a bad idea anyway to carry a small one in your car. If you (hopefully) never need it for you own ride, you may be able to...

    Will a rally-pac work for a 200ci?

I would think that finding a 6 cyl Rally Pac would be like looking for the Ol' needle in a haystack. There out there I'm sure, but I have not come across one in years. Someone like the tachman or clock doc would probably be able to convert an 8 cyl Rally Pac tach to 6 cyl operation for you.

Can you mix two different weight Mobil 1 sythetic oils?

According to Mobil's website, it is OK to mix 2 different viscosity's of Mobil one as they are completely compatible. There is no way to know exactly what the final viscosity is though, short of testing.

What is the value of this motor?

Around 3 to 4k for a complete HiPo motor needing to be redone is about right. Is the engine VIN stamped? If it is and you were able to find the owner of the Shelby that this motor belongs in, the selling price could get really interesting.

289 hipo heads off ebay - are they worth it?

Absolutley correct that there is no increase in flow with the HiPo head, they have the same port dimensions and valve size as any other 289 head. The cast in valve spring seat pockets, double valve springs and screw in studs added high rpm stability for the higher winding K motor. If you want a...

    A 302 HiPo

Ford has obviously made many hi performance motors over the years and many are casually called HiPo's. The only motor truly refered to and called a "HiPo" is the 289/271 hp K motor. Ask 20 true Ford enthusiasts what a HiPo is and the 289/271 hp motor is the answer you will get every time. (Just...

    Will fiberglass parts....?

Everyone is right on with paying attention to the prep work and using quality paints. I would also mention that it is worth taking the time to adjust the latch so that you can close the hood without a lot of slamming and excessive pushing - this will lessen the likely hood of paint cracking. I...
