    2004 gt power sterring problems

Has the power steering hydraulics been opened up recently? Did the fluid ever run dry? It sounds like it may just need bleeding but there may be a fault in the power steering pump itself.

    2004 gt power sterring problems

Check your P/S fluid level first. Then check the feedline from the reservoir to the pump for kinks.

    Resonate noise from IAC valve

Good post bhuff. Another option might be a damper in the form of, say, a Helmholtz resonator but I suspect for the frequencies involved the components and volumes would be prohibitively large: The wavelength of 320Hz is over 1 meter (~3 feet) so...

Exhaust high flowcatalytic converters with 02 housing.

The sensors are almost certain still there and not "eliminated." He may have been referring to the use of "MIL eliminators" which are electrical filters put between the sensor the PCM harness. It may also mean that the rear O2 sensor codes were disabled by the use of a tuner. The use of a...

Exhaust high flowcatalytic converters with 02 housing.

There are four sensors, two on each side. The catalytic converter(s) lie between them. The upstream (front) sensors are used by the PCM to measure the exhaust gas before its chemical makeup is altered by the cats and this info is used to trim fuel delivery. The downstream (rear) sensors are...

Exhaust high flowcatalytic converters with 02 housing.

On these cars the sensors go into a bung welded to the pipe before/after the cats. A high-flow cat of the correct pipe diameter is all you need. The existing bung(s) should work fine where they are.

Engine Cold Air Intake, Worthless add on?

Consider just removing the inlet snorkel/silencer from the airbox in place of buying a CAI:

Wheel Hub Failing Again- Opinions Please

Verify the driver's side brake is not dragging. Excessive heat pumped into the hub from the brake rotor can liquify the grease in the bearing and accelerate failure.

    Alternator whine and battery flashing..

Definitely keep the old one around. Repair parts aren't expensive and it's good to have spares. I bought a black-painted high-ampacity PA alternator for mine but found the regulation to be terrible: lights would dim badly at idle and would vary in brightness with engine RPM, a sign the regulator...

    Alternator whine and battery flashing..

I had a problem with my 6G where that plastic piece that acts as the rear bearing support cracked and allowed the entire shaft and bearing assembly to move radially. It never made noise but I noticed it while searching down another noise... I wonder if the 6G doesn't like reverse-rotation as...

    Alternator whine and battery flashing..

14 VDC sounds okay to drive, at least electrically. Perhaps a bearing is on the way out. Curious: Are you sure it's the alternator and not, say the smooth or grooved idler or tensioner pulleys making that noise?

Forced Induction Question for guys with KB blower

My 1.7 twinscrew sings it own stupid song at certain points in the RPM range: I sent it out for rebuild (new bearings, seals etc etc), got it back and have the same noise. Beginning to question my sanity or whether the noise is even coming from the blower... I do notice some rather...

    Alternator whine and battery flashing..

Ah right, of course. Across the battery terminals. Check it at idle and rev the engine to ~2000RPM and check again.

    Alternator whine and battery flashing..

If the sound is mechanical you might be pushing it. If a bearing has failed I wouldn't trust it. Take the belt off and check the shaft play -- axial and radial -- to judge whether the bearings are fit for service. If the sound is electrical it's likely the alternator has blown one or more...

    Mach 460 'CD ERROR'

Here’s a photo-log of what I did to my MACH460 6-disc changer that has shown, for now at least, a measure of success in restoring function to the changer and staving off that annoying “CD ERROR” message. Note that this is not yet definitively proven to fix this problem. It will take time and...

    Mach 460 'CD ERROR'

I made a video of the issue I was seeing with it: This was made a couple of days ago. Sorry for the crappy focus but it pretty clearly shows what I'm getting at. Basically, with the lid in place the mechanism will hit the top plate and will have to push against the force of the four...

Wheel well rusting issues on 2000 GT (pictures attached)

I'm no body guy but to me it looks like you're going to have to cut a fair amount of metal out and weld-in a patch. I'm thinking you would source quarters at a wrecking yard. You'd cut out the bad parts of your car and then cut and trim the replacement metal from the donor and carefully weld it...

Engine Recently had some work done and wondering about something...

Does the car have an aftermarket tach? An RPM window switch of some sort? Tapping the coil wiring like this is typically done when you want an RPM signal inside the cabin. Well, not like that. You're right: That looks unbelievably sketchy. Wires just twisted and not soldered? Hmmm. At least...

Drivetrain 97 cobra 4.6L rear end vibration

Pics of the differential cover. Sounds like it was damaged and dented inward. Is the rear original to the car? It's kind of a hard thing to hit with road debris but a hard hit in the rear could drive, say, the sway bar into the axle; if the rear is from another car do you know its history...
