    Plug #3...this is where it got interesting...in the 3rd pic you can see the porcelain at the boot was chipped but not completely off...I replaced with an Autolite 25 I had laying around...not sur eif that would cause a misfire or bad condition

    After months of searchign for vacuum leaks and toying with carb and fuel delivery etc etc, I finally found the issue....Changed the distributor out o a steel gear '85 GT distributor and everything is fixed...Now idles properly and goes in gear without issue Just posting in case it helps...

    Yeah..I am kind of wishing I hadn't sold that carb with my old engine. LOL A friend of mine suggested going to the Holley Sniper self learning setup, which I had always eventually intended but not sure if that might just creat enew problems LOL

    Thanks for all the info..I ordered a better carb gasket, vacuum tree, and the thread sealer..someof it will take time to get here but I am gonna start on some stuff in the meantime..i will keep posted on my progress

    Yeah I didn't even notice the absence of them when I originally bought the carb...this is what I get for grabbing a Holley from the local auto parts store. LOL...At the time i was in a crunch for a new carb for my old motor

    I wonder if the spacer isn't part of this whole issue...It is just a cheaper one from Auto Zone....I never really considered the thought of the spacer not properly matching to the manifold When you say the blade shoudl barely expose the sot, not sure exactly what that means..I had seen...

    Yeah I have those capped off on my carb...I really wish mine had the sights on the float bowls though.
