Head off a '73 Lotus Europa....

Up until the mid 80s the Formula Atlantic open wheel series used Ford DOHC engines, I don't remember what the cc was. They later became "Toyota Atlantics", but before then they were Fords.

    2.3 head shaving

I have a stock 2.3 (1993) with the double plug head. I was wanting to use this engine as a "mule" to sort out my car. Would any of you know how much I could shave off that head to get 11.5 compression, and suggest a cam. I just need enough power to be competitive, the killer motor is a year away.

I wonder if some "grinder work" would let it clear, or is it too big of a problem?

    suspension question

When I lowerred my 99 I (eventually) added 2 more mods, one was the bumpsteer kit, and the other was the extended front ball joint (both from Steeda) the reason for this is that when lowerred, the roll center of the car ends up below pavement level. Believe me, those 2 mods were WELL worth the...

    Suspension kit questions.

Griggs, steeda, maximum, agent 47, and BMR all make great products, IMO you should stick with 1 company for the whole kit (all MM, all Steeda, etc) Here's something to tweek you up a bit... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzpDOFOvdek

Is anyone getting sick of rice?

It's that way in Tampa Bay, the problem everybody forgets is there is a difference between a "Street legal car" and a "Street driven car", try driving one of those pro street pigs for 1200 miles through the Rockies some day. I used to be all up into that stuff and about 50 miles in a real 10...

1996-2004 Mustang 2" Drop Spindles Any Good?

IMO the drop spindles are the way to go, if the spindles are made correctly you will not need the bump steer kit, or the special ball joints to get the alignment back where it needs to be or any of the other associated BS that almost adds up to the price of the dropped spindles to begin with...

What Radar Dectector are you guys using?

There used to be a book out called "the fast driver's handbook" it's currently out of print but if you can locate one it's full of good info. Everything from reading traffic patterns to locating revenuers. The technical info is now dated but the driving end of it still applies. I wish that the...

Is anyone getting sick of rice?

I ran in the NASA class "D" with the S2000 Hondas. I finished 3rd over all in points (Tampa bay series). My 99 Gt was basically stock so I guess the rice aren't that great after all. These were parking lot tracks, the GT rarely got out of 1st gear so the Hondas should have owned the place. I...

Yeah, thanks for putting your butts on the line. The way I see it, if they're busy in their own back yard they won't have time to screw with us over here. I had a buddy die in 9/11 so it's real freakin' personal to me.

    Next Suspension Mod

IMO, you need to us ethe adjustable upper control arm for the rear (ones with heim joints) to keep them from binding, when you do that you'll need to go panhard bar to keep the rear under the car. Try that first, then check out the torque arm.

    Our troops in Iraq

I will keep them in my prayers. I feel very strongly that it doesn't matter who is in the white house, those people hate us no matter what, will always try to kill us and basically have no use for us (along with Israel). We need to go after them with a big hammer, or we'll just drag this out...

    Supercharged to NA?

Th e6 pounder will last forever, Salleen uses a 2v motor wit (I think) 9 pounds of boost and they come with a warranty. You won't beat a blower/turbo for power, there's just no way, and the neat thing about a blower/turbo is that the HP doesn't drop off above sea level and the mileage is still...
