    Best way to change springs?

I started swapping out my brakes, and thought "oh what the hell, I'll just swap the springs while I'm at it" stupid stupid stupid. I undid the balljoint and tie rod and sway bar, I ended up getting the factory spring out no problem, but tried getting the lowering spring in, big problem...

lol, no, none of the parts. Had them all at one time or another. Think I still have a 89 ECM for a GT 5 speed around somewhere. Have a T-45 trans for a modular engine, have a supercharger from a Pontiac GTP, some other stuff. I am not looking to do the swap this afternoon..... I do...

meh, even more bleak than 88stangmanGT said.... lol I can make up for the power to weight ratio. K-member, hood, maybe even Fenders..... Won't drop 300 lbs off the front, but a stiff sway bar and good shocks, springs and struts should get me pretty close. Also the biggest handlign...

in Chicago? Can I borrow your car? Just read

ok, I need to borrow a 05 + GT in order to design a brake kit. Front, 6 piston calipers 2 piece vented slotted rotors in 14 inch. 2-4 piston 2 piece vented slotted rotors in 11 inch, rear. I need to take the wheels off, measure the stock rotors, and measure the spindle/caliper...

Chicago drivers, can I borrow your car? Just read

Going to of course test the drivability, and make sure the MC is up to the job, but once all is said and done, I think I will include a warning sticker that says "depressing brake pedal too hard can detach retinas" :D

Lincoln Mark 7 axles are longer and will put the rims out a little further. Not sure by how much exactly tho.

    No Wonder Ford is Hurting!

THe truth of the matter is this, Ford made the part, and it cost them a few dollars to make (labor and tooling plus 8 cents of plastic) but I see your point. THe dealership charges ford 80 bucks to fix it. SO if this happens 1000 times, that is 80,000 dollars. That's like giving away 3...

Chicago drivers, can I borrow your car? Just read

ok, I don't want to drive it, I just need to take the wheels off, and take some measurements. I found a manufacturer who can supply a set of 14 inch two piece rotos for the fronts and 6 piston calipers, and a set of 11-12 inch 2 piece rotors for the rears and 2-4 piston calipers to match...

    Fuel needs for a S/C 331 350-400hp

36 lbs will be just under over the industry standard of 80% at 400 hp. Running those numbers through, you need 37.5 lbs minimum, so the next step up would be the best. But like droptop said, keep in mind if you want to run more boost later. Injectors are not cheap.

Anyone using cast/nodular iron stroker cranks?

if you are running spray (over 150 hp) or forced induction, I'd suggest going with Forged. These days a cast crank will be under 200 bucks, and a forged about 400, but after all the other parts, it adds up. With me, i am planning a stroker build up this year. Either a 302 to 331, or a 351 to...

well, I think it's just easier to make the power I want from the V8. But I really don't think the 2.3 is that limited. There are 9 second 2.3s in existance. Not too many stock 5.0 blocks that go that fast, but there are some.... Basically I know for the power level I want, I can go with...

ummm, thanks I guess..... but seriously a 351 car that loses to a stock 2.3T? Must be tuned to "barely run" or a mix match of parts. Either way, that's very sad. The first 302 Build up I did, we put TFS R heads, Cobra (port matched) intake, E303 cam, throttle body Injectors (forget...

well, in your first post you stated what I had said I didn't want to hear. I agree the 2.3T is a good motor. However, how much do you have into your 2.3T? Yes I can go that route. But it really isn't what I want to do. If I do, I know I'll just want more and more power, so if I am going to...
