    Am I OK with using a brand new clutch disk with a used low mile pressure plate?

    A burnt pressure plate looks shiney (as apposed to a satin metal finish), and it generally has darker spots on it, and in some bad cases blue or purple spots on it. I know i just did the clutch in my daily driver yesterday and the whole pp was purple. Previous owner must have ridden the crap...

    yes a notch trunk lid is exactly the same, minus the luggage rack. They are hard to come by in good shape. You can get a new one for about $150 ....might just be worth it if you are going to paint the car anyways.

    SPEC Clutches kick rearend for sure! My next pick would be a McLeod Street Twin...but those are big bucks. Seems Centerforce isn't the prefered clutch anymore as it was in the 90's eh?

    Believe it or not, the early V8 foxes (not sure what years, probably early 80's) came with the 7.5" rearend from the factory. I guess as they started getting more power out of the 302's in the later models they stepped it up to the 8.8 . I put the 8.8 in my car, because i don't think the 7.5...

    LOL...Yeah the mighty 1.8 doesn't pack much of punch in the weight department, thats for sure. Its really not all that bad. I think the worst steering set up is a power steering rack with a bad pump....its sloppy AND hard to turn! :notnice:
