In my opinion, if you want to keep the vintage look then run the Hipo manifolds. I like to run long tubes, Hokker has a set for around $200 last time I checked which was not too much more than a set of Tri-Ys. Shortys or Tri-Ys will keep lower end torque which would be good paired with a dual...
I've been away for a long time, late response and you already went with an Addco, but you can make anything work. I have a 2003 Mustang swaybar in the rear of my 66. What you want is a balance between front and rear sway bars. 1-1/8" front swaybar should be paired with a 7/8" rear, 1" front...
I've sparked the battery in my trunk, I'm still alive. People have been installing batteries in the trubk for decades and I've never heard of anyone exploding. They must all die, and there are never witnesses.
I put together my own battery relocation kits. I use 0 gauge ground wire from a...
Hey all, been a while. I've been between Iraq and Afghanistan since 2010 and haven't been around at all. I'm not a spammer but this can come across that way. Mods feel free to do as you will.
Hot Rod Power Tour 2012
Anyone going this year? It's $80 to register. you can do 1 day or all 8...
Dang Chris, it's been a long time. I remember I met you at the first IS meeting I went to at Area 52 back in the day. I remember when you left the island too. I found Pat, NOSdog3 on an Ohio Mustang forum about a year ago. He's up in Cleveland/Akron area. I'm in Afghanistan now, still...
I have a set of 4 Silver 20x10 Saleen Wheels, 5x4.5 bolt pattern, 50mm offset(7.25" Backspacing), $800+shipping from Dayton, OH. No center caps.

Not my car but you get the idea.
Wow it's been a while. Wonder what happened to everyone. Green GT, were you the guy that was DOD security? I wrote that message while I was still in the service. I've been out 2 years now. I still have my other 66 Mustang I was building in the autohobby shop on Hickam. Dropped in a 408...
I have Ford Powertrain headers too and love them. They tuck up nice and tight, even with my lowered engine. My ground clearance was 3/4" at the headers before the FPAs. Now the lowest point is the bellhousing. Used to get caught on everything, but I went with a taller wheel/tire combo.
My BOSS 408 is fun to drive, has great power and streetable. I DRIVE it to shows. I'm getting 24 miles per gallon too.

Agree, why pay $695 when you can probably find a complete engine locally used for less, tear it down to the block and clean it up, you have the same thing Summit is selling.
I like the mock boss idea, if you're going to go that route use a main girdle. You could use a BOSS 302 intake, or...
The link I sent you (Billet shifter) is basically the same thing as the Z06 piece but a bolt-on. If you do the Z-06 mod straight back your shifter base will be sitting on the driveshaft. If you raise the shifter to clear the driveshaft then the shift rod will be above the tunnel and inside...
Ebay,
here's one but it doesn't have the base
Z06 shifter
I cut into my t56 housing, it might be more involved than you want to get into.
There are other options.

Go Baby Go
Not sure who you're asking, Shakin66 and I both relocated the shifter but I suppose I can answer for both of us. Shakin's is the Roboshifter from Mustang's Plus. Mine is a Z06 shifter rotated 180 degrees. I made my own adapter and coupling. Both shifters are bolted to the trans hump. The...
So you're saying if you go without the side scoops you wouldn't have creased the bumper of the Toyota? Well, just don't park next to Toyotas and you'll be okay.
I'm just being a smartass.
It has crossed my mind in the past to use the 67/68 Shelby side scoop as well. It might take some massaging but I think it could work. The body lines might be different. I'm sure someone has done it in the past.
