E-bay only got up to 101,000. We need a bit more than that to let it go. Wayne will be at SEMA with the car, so maybe we might get an offer. We are going to be in the MagnaFlow display, in the Overhaulin' compound. There will be a Boyd car, the SN65 and a Foose car on display.

Yes, the tube that runs along the cowl/firewall is one tube. We just had to cut 4 small holes. Two in the appron and two in the outer side cowl panel. After cutting the holes we just slipped the tube all the way through. At that point we just clamped it up and welded it in place.

As she sits right now, we have added about 120 lbs. When completly assembled, I am guessing that we are going to be in the 3,000 lb range.

So far we have reduced torsional deflection by 70% and we still have a few items to complete. Here is a link showing all the mods made to date. http://sn65.com/Fire%20&%20Ice%20unibody%20reinforcement.htm Here are some photos showing the rocker, floor pan mods Here...

The Reenmachine DOHC '67 Shelby Clone Convertible Progress

Hi Pete, I am thrilled that you have finished your project. I am sure that there might be a few minor little items you may need to finish up, but, on a build like this, there is always something. Where you going to take her for her first event? Maybe we can meet up. Congrats on a...

    SN65 on E-Bay....

two and one half days to go and we are over $85,000 with 13 different bidders and 120 people watching from the sidelines. Hopefully those 120 people on the sidelines are waiting to place their bids in the last hour. If that is the case, Sat night at around 7PM central time should be pretty...

    interior question on sn65

Larry is right. The dash really (except for a few issues) bolted right in. the trick is all the structural modifications behind the dash. You need to graft in the late model firewall and trans tunnel to make it work. Good luck on your project.

    SN65 on E-Bay....

I wish we could hang onto the car forever, but we need to sell it to help fund the new projects. If it were up to me, and I could affors it, I would just be driving it from show, to show, to show... I am betting that the new projects will ride and perform as well or better.

    SN65 on E-Bay....

We were going to wait until Jan to list the Sn65 with Barrett Jackson, but we thought it would be interesting to give E-Bay a shot first. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=003&item=130026179763&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT The Ring brothers "Kona" went for...

Look forward to seeing you there. This very second, the Sn65 is motoring its way around the Putnam race track. Wayne is taking Jim Ring (you know, Jim of the Ring Brothers) for one of the trial laps arond the course. They are at the Air Rides media event. Pretty cool considering that we...

The structure we are adding to the front end of the car will not interfear with any of the "stock" mustang components.

Yes and no. Yes the cage will keep the roof up during a role over, but it will also stiffen up the rear suspension mounting points as well as tie together the rear frame rails helping to eliminate twist. If I design the cage correctly, any force that tries to move one of the 4 mounting...

Unfortunately, you are correct. I just can't put something in the car that we did not engineer ourselves. My problem is that I am used to designing the supporting structure and platforms for large water tanks and pressure vessels. You tend to go a bit over the top when designing structures...

I am going to have to try and keep this straight. I am hopeing that this type of confusion will fade away when we start to work on the cars themselves.

Yes, the cage is a bit "overkill" but I need something that is both functional and has a certain amount of eye appeal. The extra bracing is a bit over the top, but I was going to build the main segments of the cage with 1.75x.125 tube and the rest out of lightweight thin wall tubing to keep...
