Took my MII to the track today, what a disaster!!!

Working at a wrecking yard, I do at least two compession tests a day on engines. Your numbers look just fine to me. After running out of oil, everthing got really hot. The engine was likely really dry. The one cyl that was really high, probably had some oil left in it. Shooting more in it made...

Took my MII to the track today, what a disaster!!!

Oil pump rod and carmic retrobution from Jebus :D The first time I rebuilt the 302 was in high school and I was on a super tight budget. I used the stock oil pump drive. I had no oil pressure gauge at the time. The shaft did the twizzler and broke off. The engine actually seized. I filled...

    Kool performance data!

I take Concord's apart at the auto wrecker all the time (did one today actually!) They seem like a well built and well put togeather car. We do not even save the transmissions any more they never blow up! The engines never seem to compression test very well though, we do sell many of those...

    Kool performance data!

I fix my own rides and the Volvo has farmiliar stuff under the hood like a distributor! I was thinkin' Mark eight or a north star Caddy, but after taking them apart at work, both cars scare me. The freakin' northstar had the starter under the intake manifold! The Volvo looks Mazda/Toyota/Honda...

    Kool performance data!

I am looking to purchase a new daily driver to replace my beloved 92 Lincoln Mark VII and my behated (is that a word?) Mazda 323. I have desided to buy a 95ish Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon. Although performance should not count that much on a daily driver, it does to me! I found this really kool...

    two mustangs in one week

A highly paid ad executive could not have came up with a better slogan! :D I always explane my Mustang that way too. It is not a car it is, a Hobby. Some people have a ski boat, some people have a dirt bike, I have a II

    two mustangs in one week

Your mid-life crisis sounds like a fun trip :rlaugh: Did you get the 24 year old mistress yet?? (Joking, my jelousy over took my typing fingers) :D Mustang always delivers on it's promise. "Takes you away from the everyday" Just as Ford promised. "Mustang II, Bordom 0" True, but that...

    Look what I got today!

Looks like fun Christmas in June! I have Moroso tall chrome steel valve covers with out the "Moroso" stamped in them. They don't leak a drop  I put a 60's Ford hood scoop on my II. (the one with the turn signal indicators in it). It is only 1 1/2 tall but it makes all the differance...

    NHRA fuel cell rules??

My car in 90% finished. Part of the 10% left to go is the NHRA legal firewall between the passenger compartment and the fuel cell. I left this part to the end, because I have no clue how to make a firewall to fit in a hatch back II with a 6 point roll cage! Like building a tiny ship in a tiny...

    Stock? 76 302

Check this out: http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/TechServ/TechInfo/SCTech.html http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/AMS/SC/SCK/Pro-Street.html The B&M blower is no longer made. It was a Wiend product. Wiend (a Holley brand) still offers the blower. The 174 is the model that fits...

    Stock? 76 302

I would pop the heads off and check the piston situation first. If the engine has been rebuilt it likely has flat top pistons. If it has flat top pistons I would run the E7 heads with the blower. 1976 heads should be 58CC. 58CC with flat tops makes for a fair amount of compression. I run a 1975...

    Exhaust gaskets

If money is tight use the cheapo white paper gaskets and soak them in water for an 1/2 hour to get them pulpy. I tried this and they worked really well for a while. I have tried many types of header gaskets and the Earls header gaskets are the best I have tried. They are aluminum with carbon...

Mustang II GT H.O. thread closed?

Wart may have got the K.O, but I got in a few good shots! After seeing his messed up attempt at a very basic bolt-on, it is now clear to me why it is very important to him that his cars perform well out of the box! I used to sell Mac products at my store, and their productss always fit and work...

Another clean ebay II for sale

Sweet car! Step one brace the body. Step two saws-all off the roof. Step 3 cruise the wheels off it :D I can't help it, every time I see a nice coupe it reminds me of how mad I am Ford never built a II convertable. A II drop top would have been such a nice car :D

    Mustang II GT H.O

Where may I ask did we get off track? In my opinion we stuck to the track better then any torsion bar bias-ply equiped muscle car ever could :rlaugh: Where we began -Muscle car guys lost in the 60's -Muscle car guys gennerally ignorant to cars built after 1972 -Muscle cars not the only...

    Mustang II GT H.O

"You still have to dump a lot of $$$ into it to get anywheres near what the original Muscle Cars offered, dang, I'm starting to repeat myself, but I guess it still applies to your above statement. Repeating again, Nothing from then until now could be made to run like them without major mods done...

    Mustang II GT H.O

Before I start in on my next rant, let me state that I love Muscle cars. :D Besides for the ultra rare Boss 429, LS6 Chevelle, and a handfull of other ultra rare muscle cars, in reality muscle cars were pretty slow. The majority of "Muscle" cars ran 15 to mid 14 second quarter miles. In...
