I have another theory... And for those who frequent boards, prob. will dicard my theory.. But.... Maybe people are actually starting to use the search therfore, not needing to post repeat questions anymore.. ;)

Fixing someone elses bad body work.

My friend has a classic cougar, but same applies... He has some bad body work on his passangers side that small 4 inch panel under the door. Someone tried to shape it in with bodo, and wasnt even close. can this be removed? sand it down to shape? cut it out and redo? Now my friend...

    Time to update the 68

What size spacers are on there now? I think a 1" spacer on all 4 corners will work with those rims..

    Time to update the 68

If it were me... I'd get the $500 grab a trak suspension - rach & pinion steering - use steves brake conversion for $800 I think. You'd be good to go with what your needs are.

New to Stangnet with a few Q's

275 no prob in the rear of a 68. I had test fit a 9.5" rim with 275 - fit perfect I did not even have rolled fenders.. I have a friend who has a 10" rim with 295's on there - granted those are 18's but should fit the same if they were 17's...

need to make a decision on and engine damn soon

I personally went with a 1990+ due to it's 1 piece rear main seal. Some say to get a 95+ due to something else.. sorry I cant think of it, but it does cost more for that block and requires extra items... Again sorry I cant tell you what those are, they seem to have slipped my mind..

need to make a decision on and engine damn soon

I just finished this thought process as well... :) I have a 302 currently- but I decided to upgrade to the 351W ----so much more room to grow and not as expensive as you would think. I got a remanufactured engine new pistons, cam, valve springs, stock heads.. $1500 to the door.. Comes...

Started out as a good day - quickly went down

94+ huh - I'll check on that. Yeah I had thought originally that I had a 351 - bought a new intake - found out I had a 302. (Im new to engines, but learning alot) So I have a 351W intake already, and a 750cfm edelbrock carb, New fuel Pump, Valve covers, Timing cover, and more all for the 351...

Started out as a good day - quickly went down

Well I finally made some progress on my engine dilema thanks to you guys and some others not on this board. I've decided to purchase a 1990+ 351W (1 piece main seal) with a few upgrades from stock. This engine is going to be built for me as a remanufactured engine from a local company here...

Started out as a good day - quickly went down

Very good advice.. I think I am going to let it fester in my head for awhile before jumping into anything. The quick and easy route would be to keep the 302 and build it up nice - The better long term choice would be the 351 and build it up with my parts. I guess that choice would also make...

Started out as a good day - quickly went down

Someone in here said the headers I have would fit either a 302 or a 351. Is that incorrect?

Started out as a good day - quickly went down

Yeah, I wasnt too concerned with the engine when I bought the car - my main concern was a solid and straight body... LUCKILIY I have that.. :) My goal has always been to replace the engine, so not too distraught by that either, I was just going to start in on suspension/handling rims/tires...

Started out as a good day - quickly went down

Yup I am a ford newb... But I rather make mistakes and learn from them, than be scared to ever learn... :) Yeah - the intake size was my first item that made me start to research what I actaully had in my car. I am thinking of pulling the 302 and putting in a 351 - I should be able to find...

Started out as a good day - quickly went down

Started out as a good day - quickly went down--UPDATED!! Well not too long ago I had purchased this 68 coupe with a 351W engine in there. Runs great, needed a few small upgrades here and there, so I started stock piling all the parts I needed. Started the tear down and install yesterday...

good job, but it may look a little better if you utilize the existing lines of the mustang rather than going against them. I'll post of pic of what im talking about if I can find it on my puter. (Im at work not sure if it's here or at home)
