As usual thank you for the input:nice: yes it is one of the four long bolts. I used a ton of the permatex thread sealant on the long bolts. I replaced the water pump about a month and a half ago. It is probably got 800-1000 miles on it. I just did a bunch of cleaning today. Cleaned the bolt...

My theory is that because there is no gasket in that section it allows the rear plate to defect when the pressure builds up. Looks like the felpro gasket has that piece. That is as far as I got tonight. I will clean the timing cover off in the morning and see what that looks like.

This is the same spot I saw pool up before. It leaking from between the pump and the rear plate. I drained the coolant and pulled the pump off and notice there is no gasket here.

Got home late from work tonight. After I ate I went out and swapped cars around and put the 89 in the garage. I took off the belt, fan clutch, ac bracket, and shroud. Then I put my pressure tester on. 5psi didn’t do anything. Bumped it up to 10 psi and it started leaking from here.

Thanks Guys, I will take better pictures when I get the belt and fan clutch off to show where it is leaking from. Its hard to get my phone/camera in at that angle to take a good picture. I am also going to try and remember to pressure test it before I open the cooling system.

Thanks for the info, I do have a couple more questions... Do you have a number of the panel bond that you use? How would you do the hardtop to sunroof conversion? It has been a couple months since I overlayed them but if I remember correctly, the dome light hole on the hardtop gets cutout...

I think I pi$$ed it off by crimping off that hose the other night because it left another huge puddle over night. I think I am going to take it apart over the weekend and inspect everything again. Give it one more try and if it still leaks then I will get another front cover. If I do that, I...

What type of glue did you use to fill in the hole on the headliner? I was thinking of doing something similar on my 89. It is a factory sunroof car and the original headliner was damaged when the sunroof was leaking. I have an OEM cardboard piece from a non-sunroof car and was going to take...

Thanks AeroCoupe not sure I am at that point yet but I will keep it in mind. Just for fun I ran an experiment last night when I got home. Typically the car leaves a 3-4” diameter puddle of coolant under the car over night. When I got home last night I pinched the 90 deg hose with a plastic...

Originally I thought it was this bolt but that was before I saw the puddle up top. I re-thread sealed it along with the one above it. I do not think they are leaking.

Dash reassembled, now temp knob difficult to turn?

I just unhooked the cable from the heater control panel and kept it attached to the heater box. I lubed both ends and cycled the cable a few times before putting it all back together.

It’s on the water pump though. Timing cover has no coolant on it. Just oil residue from 217,000 miles of driving.

My stereo install is done. I am quite happy with how it sounds. The water pump is still seeping. So a little back story with it. The pump on this car has seeped for years. My buddy I got the car from, replaced the gaskets a bunch of times, he did the timing chain cover as well with no...

Dash reassembled, now temp knob difficult to turn?

Funny, I had the same issue recently. When I reinstalled my dashboard, the cable drooped down where you could see it. I thought that was the reason why it was difficult to turn to the hot direction. I re-routed the cable up and it still was difficult to turn. I then lubed it with some...

Huh…I did not know that. I thought it would be manual all the time. Your right. It sounds like the best of both worlds.

I thought the other car was a 5spd. I guess you only need to get the Marti Report for one car and it will give you the info for both:D I am a 3 pedal guy through and through but the manual valve bodies have been peaking my interest for some time now. I would love to drive a car with one and...

    Mach 460 System Replacement

My wife's 96 vert was a factory Mach 460 car but when I got the car it had some crappy deck installed. Factory amps were still there, they just ran wires from the deck to the speakers. It sounded like garbage. I re-ran all the wires and replaced the speakers and Amps and put a sub in the...
