    Clicking SOund Driving me nutz

So you're acknowledging it's not coming from the engine. Best way to check is open the hood and have someone listen to the engine to see if it's coming from there. Originally I thought you heard the sound either coming from the engine, or from underneith the car. I didn't think it was...

    Clicking SOund Driving me nutz

If it is his throw-out bearing, what would cause it to go ka-put? The click or tick sound I mean on a catalytic converter would be classed more as a rattle, just with the tick/click sound as the element is moving/bouncing around inside the cat.

    Problem.......

Wow, I'm embarrased! I woulda thought it was lighter. I'm way off on that assumption Sorry :(

    Problem.......

Time to take off that crappy stock iron driveshaft and get yourself a one piece FORD Racing Alum driveshaft and you'll never have to worry about it again. It'll knock off about 50 pounds of weight from your car too if not more. You may want to look into getting this taken care of quick. An...

    Problem.......

Maybe torque, but my understanding is torque boxes problems are usually noticed when cornering. I'm thinking driveshaft?

    Clicking SOund Driving me nutz

I have a similar problem. However, on idle it stops. I can rev the engine all I want and it's smooth as butter, however, once I start moving/accelerating I get the click, or a clack as I like to put it. Funny thing is though, that after the car reached operating temps (5 minutes), the...

Canadian 93 5.0 lx owners ? FOR YA

There is no Canadian Carfax, however, there is a Canadian used car buyers package where all you need is $20 and you go to a kiosk and punch in the VIN and you get your car history printed up. All Mustangs were built in Detroit. It could be possible that those stickers were added on in the...

    Are my Cats Shot?

I have a 1990 5.0 Hatch and recently had a MAC catback system installed. I also have MAC ceramic coated headers. However, my catted h-pipe is still FORD stock. I had the catback system installed in early May and just 2 weeks ago I started getting a "clack clack clacking" sound coming from...

    floor/interior question

It's nothing more than a useless drain hole. Tack weld a nice piece of stainless steel over it and while you're at it, do the little ones also on both sides. Seeing as you're going to cover the hole with sheet metal, I'd clean up the rest of the hole from any rust and then spray some rust...

Synth 5W30 & higher miles. Worth the 5 HP?

I would think you'd want the opposite in oil weight seeing as it's hot where you are and the engine is under intense pressure to perform at high RPM's due to the fact you're drag racing it. Typically, with conventional oil, in the summer and hot periods of the year, one would use 10W-30...

    too much oil!?!?!

Actually, the handbook states that a foxbody 5.0 takes 4.73 Litres of oil. On the next oil change, I'd fill up and run then engine. Then let the car sit for a half hour and take a measurement. Mark this spot as being full. I did this on my last oil change and found that when filled at 4.73...

Canadian 93 5.0 lx owners ? FOR YA

I'm a Canadian and have a 1990 5.0. That is a "Canadian" cluster for sure as the outer speed measurements are in km/hr and the inner are mph. However, on my 1990 5.0 the max number on the cluster is 220km/hr and the max for the US measurement was 140 MPH. I could be wrong, but it looks like...

    Water in headlights

I replaced all 6 fronts when I repainted my car and the new ones let in some water also. Just moisture though as shortly after they clear up, but I would think it wrecks havoc on the electrical harnesses which house the bulbs wouldn't it???????????????????? I have this problem when I use a...

Where should I order these parts from?

www.50resto.com carries stock bumper parts for foxbodies. I'm pretty sure they carry both the FORD stock and the aftermarket bumpers also based on my 2003 catalog I have from them. However, I've heard the same stories that the aftermarket bumpers don't fit easily without some work. The...

Please take a look at my crack! .... door crack!

Looks ok to me also. Maybe due to age and a few mild (lol) launches, the chassis twisted a little and that's causing panels not to align right up. You have subframes on this car now right??????????????? I've heard stories from guys who worked at FORD dealerships who had brand spanking new...

    Using LOCTITE to threadlock shiftknob?

I just recently installed a Steeda Tri-ax shifter into my tranny. Along with the tri-ax, I purchased the Steeda Insulated Shiftknob. It simply just screws on to the shift handle. There is NO tightening screw (alan screw) on the base of the knob to tighten the knob to the handle and prevent it...

    MISSING AT IDLE..EXHAUST DEPOSITS

How thick is the deposit in the exhaust tips? Is it thin and powdery black, or are we talking caked on black crap? You could be running a little rich on that side of the engine. Or, you could be burning oil and your valves are going?
