Quick late model PMGR starter wiring question

No. Mini starters get the battery voltage full time on the large cable (top terminal) The smaller terminal on the left gets voltage from a relay or as most retrofit kits use, the existing solenoid to pass the "start" voltage. The bottom large terminal is not ground. It is the power that is...

    '68 A/C Trouble Shooting ?'s

I don't know how similiar your 68 controls are, but my guess is one or more of the cable slipped off at the AC air box lever end or at the control end. Here are some pics: ( the unit is a Vintage air, but you get the point. AC Air box flapper control cever Control lever assembly with cables

That makes sense if there is a separate circuit feeding the brake switch.

    Painless 20120 Harness Installation

    1) What Space? Here is a diagram. 2) There should be 4 terminals connected, Battery power in, Ign out, acc out and start out. 3) Yes it grounds itself 4) Wiper diagram 5) I would want to know the oil pressure if i was starting an engine for the first time or in a long time.

    Painless 20120 Harness Installation

Yes, you are not using an ammmeter, so a "loop" is not needed. Due to the higher output of the 3G, you will need a heavy gauge wire from the B+ of the Alternator directly to the Battery side of the Solenoid. You can eliminate some of the "congestion" at the solenoid B+ terminal by routing one of...

    Painless 20120 Harness Installation

The red wire is the alternator (B+) output and will go to the battery side of the solenoid with a heavy gauge cable (I'm using a 4 ga). You might want to put a fuse in line with it. When the diodes in the alternator go bad they tend to short out and may cause some wire melting and possible fire...

    98 Seats into a 65?

Here are some pics of the mods I did to mine to bolt '88 GT seats in my 65. I modified the front slider hole and tapped out the closest hole on the seat frames. BTW if you want to go to a tilt column, it's a lot of work on a '65 -'67. Because of the solid shaft, the steering box has to be...

    Painless 20120 Harness Installation

No, it is full time battery voltage. One is tied to the output side of the alternator and the other makes its way back to the battery side of the solenoid. Typically relay circuits are fed battery voltage and then turned on to pass the high current through it. Low current input from a switch...

    3G Wire lengths?

The ground cable is contained inside my battery box in the trunk. it is 1/0 marine battery cable. The lug is double nutted at the bottom where the stud goes through the trunk floor at the frame flange. The Engine is grounded with the same type of cable to one of the sway bar bolts and the...

Or you could use one of these tie points to connect them with eyelet terminals for a convenient point for any accessory relays that require battery power such as electric windows or door locks.

    Painless 20120 Harness Installation

Here is a diagram on the 3G. Current for a ampmeter goes through it. You would have to tie the leads together to bypass it. A voltmeter simply ties into a "key on" source and the other side is grounded.

Here is a simplified diagram of how to wire up an aftermarket 4-way switch. The wire color coding is not for any particular model.

    3G Wire lengths?

With out determining where you would want the fuse to be mounted, only a guess can be made. I would say about 24 inches from the alternator to the fuse mounted close to the solenoid and then 6-12 inched from the fuse to the B+ solenoid. You could get by with shorter, but you can deal with the...

    battery drains with headlights on????

When you get a chance, have someone turn on other accessories while you check the voltage at the battery with an external voltmeter. As they turn on the wipers, apply the brakes, heater fan and then turn on the lights, see what each item does individually and separate to the voltage. If...

    battery drains with headlights on????

What type of gage do you have? Where is it tied into? Are you measuring the same with a external handheld voltmeter? Does it actually kill the battery or are you just going by the gage indication?

GT Handling Equipment and rear sway bar.

As far as handling goes, the springs and shocks were a tad stiffer and the sway bar was 13/16" - only a tad bigger than the stock sway bar.

Resistive Coil Wire With New Coil

You said you have the Pertonix coil, but do you have the pertronix module in the distributor, or are you running points? The purpose of the resistor wire is to save the points from burning up.

    Starter Wiring help

You may have a stuck solenoid or the wire that is supposed to be coming from the start side of the ignition switch somehow got switched with a battery or ignition sourced wire. 1. Check your battery voltage. It should be stay between 10-12volts while cranking. 2. Disconnect the wire from...

    65 Courtesy Lights.

A typical two pigtail socket/bulb uses two filiments which share the ground with the metal base. You will need to use a two filiment bulb, such as a brake light bulb. If you use the single filament courtesy lamp, It's posible the one solder blob in the middle of the bulb base will contact both...

Did you try jumping it? What is the actual battery voltage? It sounds like a dead cell in the battery. Most auto parts places will check it for you.
