    Pully for 3G alt swap

How many amps is the 3G alt you plan on using? I got the pulley with my alt from these guys: RJM Injection Tech Alternator Accessories & Parts I have a a serpentine setup, but they also sell a dual V-groove because it will slip with a single belt if the alt is over 100Amps. (mine did -...

    Sequential Tail Lights Incandescent

No, I was wrong about that. I just checked and they draw about 2.5 amps at 13.8 volts and the tail/park filament (low) draws about .6 amps. Those Nighthawks might be more.

    Sequential Tail Lights Incandescent

No, they worked pretty good. No, they were STS-1 Sequencer Kit from Web Electric I made my own dividers in the taillight housing and put in the extra sockets. I still have the sequencing modules somewhere, I never got around to selling them. Most people are leary about buying used...

    Sequential Tail Lights Incandescent

I had a similar setup. Sure it provides 200% more light and that was my main concern. My kids were driving the car at the time and I wanted to make sure anyone from behind could see the brake lights here in the bright a$$ El Paso sun. The problem is it sucks up 200% more current. If one 1157...

    1964 1/2 Mustang Starter Solenoid

That sounds right. The solenoid may have fried because it is old, or the starter is going out. What were the results of the starter testing? Make sure you can turn the engine over by hand and it doesn't take excessive effort. True, but it has nothing to do with the ignition terminal. The...

    1964 1/2 Mustang Starter Solenoid

That diagram is incorrect. The S terminal gets voltage when cranking from the ignition switch in the "Start" position, Not from the starter.

    Charging System

Check to make sure that the "turn on" signal is goodon the Lt' Grn/Red wire. It should go through the charge lamp. If you don't have one, there should be a resistor in the circuit.

    Doesn't Charge enough!

12.3 to 12.5 is not charging. Charge voltage should be 13.5 to 14.5V Take a close look at all the wiring at the alternator and voltage regulator for a loose, frayed, burned, dirty, corroded or broken wires and connectors.

    Starting Issues

I like your painless accessory power distribution. So the pink wire is probably not an issue, but I think you should try to track down why there is only 1.5 volts at the MSD box. Trace it back and see what components it has to pass through and check along the way.

    1964 rear brake light issue

IIRC the 64 1/2 models did have the hydraulic pressure activated brake switch on the front of the master cylnder. You could "T" off of the front brake line on the new one to plumb it in, but if it were me I would rather figure out how to hook up a standard brake light switch to the pedal assy...

    Starting Issues

Yes Possibly, there should not be that massive of a drop. Especially if it is cranking normally as you say. Yes Actually the wire IS the resistor. The MSD box only requires the voltage at this point as a "turn-on" signal and is not supposed to draw much current. Our Stangs are...

    Starting Issues

When you check the spark it is with the key in the "ON" position. The MSD Ignition Box requires the voltage in "ON" and "START". Temporarily disconnect the solenoid "S" terminal so it doesn't crank, and check for the ignition voltage at the MSD box to see what the level is when the key is in the...

    Mini starter conversion.

When I swapped in my mini starter, I already had moved my battery and solenoid to the trunk. I was just removing the big unnecessary solenoid. The downside to going with the smaller Bosch type relay is that you now need some place to tie in the all the accessory battery distribution.

    Mini starter conversion.

That is the same starter I have. If you look at the vehicles on that ebay listing, it should be fairly accurate for donor vehicles at a salvage yard. Here are a couple threads on wiring Mini Starters: Starter solenoid problem - Mustang Forums at StangNet MINI STARTER WIRING??? - Mustang...

    Electrical Gremlins

That still seems too high of voltage. Is it the same battery you had before you put the 3G on it? Did you have a more normal reading before the 3G? Do you have another multimeter to verify your output? Look at the 3G connector. Where is the "A" terminal tied to? Usually it is a yellow/white wire.

    Electrical Gremlins

Before measuring a battery at rest, you should remove the residual charge by temporarily applying a load to it (Like cranking it over a couple seconds). At rest voltage should be from 12.5 to 12.8V Charge voltage over 14.5 is too high. It will boil the acid out of the battery and there will...

Pics of trunk and battery holder

\ LOL, I was thinking the same thing. It looks really close. Nice looking trunk though. I shoulda used a sealed battery. Here's mine:

    Starter solenoid picture

I think from a previous post you said you have a mini-starter, right? The hookup is different than stock. You actually don't need a full size solenoid, but here is a diagram of both before and after a mini starter swap:

    New member with wiring question

True, mine is in a sealed battery box with a vent tube going through the trunk floor. It still requires regular maintenance like a lead-acid battery in the engine compartment. You could get an Optima type battery. They do not have the caustic liquid sulfuric acid. Most people here move the...
