    Radiator Cap Question

I don't think the cap is your problem. It could be a thermostat not properly opening, causing a restriction in the coolant system, and the cap/overflow bottle is the only pace the coolant can go.

1989 Mustang GT seat rail issues

It's been discussed many times, just do search on "seat replacement", but any Mustang seat/rails will bolt up to the existing locations. A lot of guys use the '94 on up seats in their Foxbodies, and they should fit no problem. Also the rear from a '94 on up can be used with some modification...

    Help!!Coolant leak,and it's annoying

It could also be the water pump bearing as there is a hole in the bottom of the housing, and maybe it is following the block to the left side of the car. It could also be the timing cover as well. Get up under the car and take a closer look.

    AOD Problems

It does sound like a fluid problem and since you had it before, I would say your not filling the trans to the proper level. Are you checking the level when the car is fully warmed up, in Park and running? That's when you need to check your fluid level. Any other time it will be too high or...

What type of oil to use?

Just use 10w-30 year round, if you prefer dino oil. The thinner the better for less friction. If you want to run synthetic, that's another discussion.

87 Octane versus 92 Octane? What's the diff?

Illwood is right about the knocksensor. If he doesn't experience any knocking or pinging, he can get away with 87 and not really hurt anything. But he will suffer some performance for it.

    throttle body coolant?

Ford installed the coolant lines to keep the throttle body from possibly freezing in low temps, but like vristang said, the Cobra intake eliminated it. So to answer your question, you can keep it or cap it, it won't effect on how your car runs.

    Saggy Rear

Not that common, but I'd bet it's time for new rear shocks and or your spring is shot on that side.

Ever have an H-pipe make "cling cling" noises?

Yup, same thing happened to mine this year. Darn heat shield weld on the top of one of the cats rusted through. It would clank on down the street, very annoying. A quick fix was a big hose clamp until I can get it tack welded.

considering a new car with a few quirks

I'd bargain for it, but like you said, it's probably no or stuck thermo. The idle can easily be fixed, maybe the tensioner, it running cold, or just a dirty throttle body or vacuum leak. These are quick fixes, but you can use these problems to talk the salesman down. As far as the rust, it...

    Signal Flasher! BAH!

On my '87 it is up under the dash. Get your head in the passenger side foot well, look up near the center console by the radio. It should be mounted to one of the metal frames, and it should be a light blue plastic cylinder. Remove and install a new one. The one in the fuse box is the hazard...

Fan clutch is on it's way out. Replace or go electric?

It really comes down to what you really want to do. If it were mine, I'd just put a new OEM thermatic fan clutch on. Less work.

How to install/replace Foxbody hatch supports?

Right, you have to remove the clip with a screwdriver and the top end is a ball/socket connection. Just make sure you have a friend or a good 2x4 to hold the hatch up when you remove them. Doing one at a time makes it a little easier, but I'd still use a support.

I found a strange antifreeze leak, I know heater core is due, but is this normal?

A hole below the heater hoses? Where is it, on the hose itself, the metal tube the heater hose attaches to, or the block?

    What would you guys pay

What was the asking price? I would suspect a price of $6000, but that depends on the region.

    #@&!*$% Insurance Companies!!!!

I agree it's irritating, I just got a new SUV to drive in the winter, so the Stang is parked for the winter, so limited driving. My wife also has a car, so i'm insuring 3 cars. I too asked about the limited driving/pleasure driving of the Mustang. I also have a major insurance carrier and...

    White smoke at start-up?

It could be that the gasket at the throttle body to the EGR spacer is bad, allowing some coolant to drip into the upper intake, and pool there when he has the car off, and it burns off when he starts the car. Just a thought.
