    289 heads?

just remember, power stops at the bottleneck... you can get the air/fuel in the chamber, but you got to get it out also... the place to get the flow is on the short side radius, and the 289 head has a water jacket under the exh runner so be careful not to go thru... (voice of experience) :D

    carb electric fuel pump question

where is your pump located? remember, most electric pumps are made to push fuel, not pull it, so it needs to be as close to the fuel source (tank) as possible to prevent premature failure.

    Fuel pressure questions

you dont want to set the fuel pressure at idle, ive seen cars with perfect fuel pressure at idle and underload it went to zero, as for yours, the fuel pressure you listed should be close... if you still have the stock mass air i would replace it with a 75mm pro-m. and go from there...

    Stock 302

WOW! honesty... nice, well... i imagine you dont want to put a bunch of money into it, with that in mind i think i would get a summit cam kit, maybe the SUM-K3600 it is a hydraulic flat tappet cam and lifter set, with enough duration to give a nice sound, a split lift pattern to help the exhaust...

    289 heads?

you would get better results from doing the port work on your E7's and milling them for compression.

i know all about being on a budget, i would search ebay for a used vortech kit... you should be able to find one for a little over $1000. i know that isnt very budget friendly, but i dont see another way.

to get 300 at the rollers you will need about 360 at the crank. the only thing i can think of the squeze that much from your combo is to boost it.
