    SHM stroker kit, results... help.

cams with more duration leave the valve partially open during the compression stroke. This will lower your compression pressures, resulting in more friendly pump gas scenarios. Plus you'll probably pick up some more HP too if those heads flow well. Only problem, you'll probably be a little...

    SHM stroker kit, results... help.

It's a 4v I would have the tuner take out timing and lean out the a/f. If that baby has some big ports you're gonna need more cam and more rpms to make the power you're looking for. Plus the bigger cams will help bleed off your cylinder pressures which is causing your detonation.

    N/A Detonation Ideas

Didn't want to put a colder plug in...it shouldn't need it. Yep...different stations, brands, and octane's.... So far i've heard: Upstream 02's, dirty MAF, worn fuel pump. I'm just looking for possible causes/ideas....anyone else? I'm going to check the FP and clean the MAF this week.

    N/A Detonation Ideas

00 GT, 5-speed...car is practically rock stock (no timing advance or CAI). 70k miles. This past winter i started to hear some light detonation under accel on highway in 3rd, 4th, and 5 gears...about 4k to redline. Became progressively worse throughout the winter...I've run pure 93 through it...

    Carnage!!

As posted above....if it's a dedicated strip car, get the spool....(stronger than the detroit and cheaper too) You can even drive a little on the street with a spool....(i wouldn't do it with the big n littles though) If it sees regular street driving, get the trutrac. :nice:
