    Smoked Healights...Silverstars vs. HID?

Dude, a HID setup is only $40 I dont disagree that the light will be scattered...but I'm thinking at this point, even scattered light would be better than no light. I have no desire to ditch the smoked lenses either...so you can throw that one out.

    Smoked Healights...Silverstars vs. HID?

Smoked Headlights...Silverstars vs. HID? Let me say that I have in the past felt fairly strongly against throwing HID's in a non-projector housing...however, I have a strong concern for my current lighting situation. The 97 cobra I recently traded for has smoked headlights and while they are...

    Foxes Just Sound The Best

While I do admit, there is nothing quite like a 5.0 mustang with a chambered muff and an o/r h-pipe…..my 4.6 dohc with an o/r x-pipe and dumped flows sounds just plain NASTY. It frightens women and children and the occasional girly man. The sound is much more exotic with less of a grumble and...

What needs to be done to my 5.0 to keep up with 11 5.0's

+1 I've seen healthy HCI fox's with a decent suspension and the proper gears trapping 110+mph in the 1/4 mile...which in all reality is all you will need to "keep up" with a stock 2011+ GT. At that point, you it should be a drivers race. You guys have to keep in mind, not everyone that is...

    brake line removal

A propane torch will break it free…been there, done that. Next time assume it's seized up so you don't round off the flare nut. At this point, vice grips should allow you to loosen things up after you heat it. Replacing things are up to you…as I've been able to tighten things back up using...

talked to MM today and they recommended me the foxbody road and track box suspension

I would HIGHLY suggest staying away from MM's "Heavy Duty" rear LCA's. I originally had a setup before they started making disclaimers...but in short if your car sees ANY appreciable launching on the street or strip the bushings WILL rip. It's common place and IMHO, an inherit flaw with their...

    $900 to install gears?

X 2 Take it to someone who knows how to install Ford gears. Rebuilding the differential is stupid easy and takes very little time. The gear install should be straight forward by someone who knows how to do it. I had a pro do mine in ~ 1.5 hours. The cost was a hair over $200, but he did...

    Stock K-Member Alignment Issue

Lol, that's not actually a bad idea! :D

    Stock K-Member Alignment Issue

Lol, there is a big difference between trying to slide a bolted k member forward an inch to pulling an engine. Besides, even if I were to "slip" on the gas pedal the worst that is going to happen is the k-member slides forward too far. I'm not removing the bolts, only loosening them. I've...

    Stock K-Member Alignment Issue

Try closer to 3/4" out. It's fairly blatant visually and only on the one side. And why not? I've read about people using pry bars on their k-members and it moving a touch. As long as I secure the chain to an attachment point that will not bend, I don't see why this couldn't work.

    Stock K-Member Alignment Issue

Alright, here is what I figured I will try to do. I'll go ahead and loosten all the bolts and hook up a chain on the drivers side (the side that's off) k-member to the tow hook of my F150 and GENTLY tug the k-member. The alignment is off anyways so I'm not too concerned about that...I just...

Mach stereo with aftermarket head unit, no bass...

Ok, another small update. While the sounds was MUCH better with the amp driving the rear woofers, the lack of sound in the front's due to the broken amps was really bugging me. If you recall before, they had the front speakers hooked up in series. This meant that the two 6 ohm speakers...

    Stock K-Member Alignment Issue

Is this something a normal alignment shops is capable of doing?

    Stock K-Member Alignment Issue

I see they have a write-up on how to do it with the engine supported and disconnected from the k-member, but I'm wondering if it's possible to leave everything hooked up and just pull/pry it to better center the k-member in the fenderwell?

    Stock K-Member Alignment Issue

I recently purchased my 97 Cobra from an individual who had the engine replaced/rebuilt. The shop that did the work apparently dropped the k-member down, but when they re-installed everything it seems to be crooked. The drivers side front wheel is closer to the back of the fender well than the...

500HP from stock internals w/t76 turbo?????

If you plan on keeping your block in one piece, I'd plan your combo to peak at no more than 6000 RPM. Shifting at 6500+RPM with 500rwhp on a stock block is a risky proposition.

    dyno'd my 97 cobra

Hogwash. Throw a potato on your exhaust pipe and see what the restriction does. If your corking the amount of air that's coming out, you'll be limiting the amount of air that is able to go in.

    High Horsepower 4R70W

I don't know what to tell ya, an OD is an OD and not meant for all out WOT. This is the same case in an auto as it is with most any manual transmission. If you want to go faster than 140mph either up your cam and head combo to allow more RPM or drop the rear end gear ratio to allow more speed...

    High Horsepower 4R70W

Unless you plan on going over 140mph on public roads, a set of 3.27 gears will do you fine. If you want ANY OD transmission capable of handling 500+rwhp WHILE in OD (or shifting into or out of), be prepared to shell out some coin. Keep in mind, most people running auto 1/4 mile cars don't even...

Mach stereo with aftermarket head unit, no bass...

Ok, he clipped the friggen wires in the doors/panels and bridged both woofers and tweeters together. No wonder it sounded like ass. Anyways, with everything hooked up it seems the right rear amp is producing a buzz and not putting out anything to the rear woofers. I could wiggle the rear...
